Trail Blazers (5-6) Vs. Timbewolves (5-5)

    What To Watch For

    Aldridge Vs. Love
Kevin Love returned from a broken hand Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets and showed no signs of rust at all, as the All-Star went off for 34 points and 14 rebounds. These two bigs, Aldridge and Love, are arguably the Top 2 power forwards in the league and always have great head-to-head battles. And over the past couple of seasons, it seems that whichever player wins the individual matchup, also propels their team to victory. Love is the superior rebounder and can wreak havoc on the offensive glass but Aldridge is the more gifted athlete who has more size and length, which he needs to use to his advantage in the post. Force the Wolves to decide if they want to send the double team or not. If they do and Portland is hitting from outside, this one could be over early.

    Field-Goal Percentage
The Trail Blazers allowed the Suns to shoot an insane 59.7% field-goal percentage in their 27-point loss Wednesday night. They must hold the Wolves, to under 45% shooting if they want to have a chance tonight. While the offense has been a nice surprise this season for the Blazers, the defense has been a work in progress and that is the end of the floor where the great teams win games.

LA and Hickson/Leonard need some help from Lillard and the wings.  There's been way too many open shots, and penetration to the rim by gaurds.  It makes it really difficult on post defense.  Lillard need to lock down Shved.  Take a lesson from Batum revelation... defense creates offense.  All the great players play great defense.

Great win tonight! Wes and Lillard brought it! LaMarcus posted up and rebounded, played great D. Nico played great D. Really happy! Sweep the wolves!

Trying to post anywhere on this site.  Why do those that live outside of Portland Metro have such a difficult time with the Flag Ship.  Use to get the pre and post game shows  but not any more.  Have League Pass, but we do not even get the Portland announcers.  We always seem to get the opposing teams.  Now that is really interesting.  System doesn't work for us.

Malinore...if you have League Pass and watch the game, mute the audio, log onto league audio pass, click on Portland and listen to Brian Wheeler and Antonio Harvey...they're better than Mike and Mike in my opinion. Problem solved.

I thought Pek would be the difference, and felt Minn didn't go to through him often enough.  Blazers just put it in another gear with LA struggling and riding the pine in foul trouble by the end of the half.  The effort was solid.  Hickson battled even harder with LA out, and left a lot of Twolf fans crying about fouls, dispite 37 free throw attempts to Portland's 18.  This game would have been in put away half way into the 4th if the Blazers hadn't shot a horrible 8-18 on the attempts they did have.

Iceman and Ironman for the win.  Lillard (28pts on 11 of 17) and Matthews (30pts on 12-17, 5-6 from 3) with carreer highs and 58 pts combined.    Lillard chipped in 8 assists with ZERO turnover and Wes 4 steals.  Just the kind of game we need from these guys when their number is called.

Busy day today, couldnt catch the game.

How did we look? Our box score looked great. Lillard had a Monster Stat Line

I saw LA had 4 fouls in the 3rd or something so thats why he had low min and stats.

Was our defense that good, or were they just not hitting?

    Great Win nonetheless

Wes always seems to be our bounce back guy. I was really thrilled to see the way we won that game last night. Sweeping the Wolves this season was my biggest wish for the team and this is a start! Glad to see Lillard take care of the ball as well as he did and he flat out schooled Ridnour!

I saw a kid with a Timberwolves jersey last night. Normally that would bug me, being that Minnesota is our division rival and all. But then he turned around and the Timberwolves jersey said ROY on the back. It kind've left me at odds for a second. A visiting team jersey that I admired. That definately does not happen too often.

I get the poor Roy, poor Oden but those jerseys aren't cheap and the Blazers are flush with cash.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
