Preview: Clicking Trail Blazers Take Advantage Of Suspended Howard
On Dec. 18, Andre Miller returned from a one-game suspension that ended his run of 632 games played, the longest active streak at the time, and led the Trail Blazers with 22 points, seven rebounds and eight assists to top Orlando 97-83 at the Rose Garden.

The last four-game road trip of the season starts tonight for Portland in Orlando and the big news is that due to a suspension due to exceeding the technical foul limit, the Magic will be without the Eastern Conference Player of the Month, Dwight Howard. This loss is compounded even more for Orlando who doesn't have a true backup center after trading Marcin Gortat to the Suns in December. With that said, look for Ryan Anderson, a 6-10 forward, to get a lot of time and try to spread the floor and force our big men out of the paint due to his amazing outside shooting ability. But, will they have an answer for LA? 6-8 Brandon Bass has been getting a lot of run lately, but if they go with Bass on Aldridge, look for LA to have a field day.

Expect Orlando to throw the kitchen sink when LaMarcus gets the ball down low. The Magic will most likely force us to prove we can hit the outside shot. If we don't, it'll be a long night and LA will never be able to get going. A number to watch out for will be assists. If Portland can rack up over 20 assists, they should be in good shape. A high assist total will mean there is crisp ball movement and we are beating Orlando to the punch. Whether its a kick-out to a shooter for 3 or LA finding a slashing cutter down the middle, that could be the difference in a win or a loss.

I just hope we don't go into the game too overconfident, knowing that Dwight is already out for the night. Focus, play loose, and get the ball to LA= recipe for victory

We have to remember J-Rich is on this team and he love playing us especially after last year so we have to keep a eye on him, defend the 3 and there is no exscuse for us not to attack the paint. if we do that we should win and get some rest for tomorrows game.

We got the 1st game of the road trip which always sets the tone. Hopefully we can shock the world tomorrow against Miami. But at the very least we are set up for a 2-2 road trip (I'm still not sold on beating ATL until it happens!)

I think the MVP's of the game were Marcus and Crash. Their defense and rebounding really made a difference when they were out on the floor. I am worried about our outside shooting, or lack there of. We have all day to shoot, yet couldn't drop them down, and it's not like we have bad shooters taking these shots. The best we can wish for is they get hot in April during the playoffs, because they'll have to for us to advance out of the first round.

Lol we don't have good three point shooters.  If you go 8/25 or whatever the Blazers did, and 2 of those came from Andre Miller and LaMarcus Aldridge, you're in trouble.  The way the Blazers played, they should have won by 15, but there is NO excuse for missing an open jump shot.  This game was made painful and shouldn't have been.

Not a great win, but a win. We needed this riding into the Heat game. EAST COAST DOMINATION. It has to happen.

    Go Portland!

Blaser, Fab Melo had 14 blocks in the D-League, you want him? Noel has good instincts, but he is waaay to weak to go up against NBA bigs. Like I said before, Deron Williams weighs more than him. He as already had a knee injury, and we know how tha...

Rip a cap hold is a number given to free agents. Basically the cap hold is added to the teams salaries at the start of free agency. So for example a team has 10 million in cap space but has 15 million in cap holds they are technically over the sal...

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

As long as he stops pulling the ball down in the post I will be happy nothing more annoying than watching that happen several times a game

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
