Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1999-00 vs 1990-91 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1999-00: Overall record: 59-23 (2nd in league, 2nd in conference, 2nd in division)
Three losses---two of them on the basketball court---clouded an otherwise outstanding season for the Trail Blazers who recorded 59 victories to match their second-best best finish in franchise history. The biggest setback came May 5, just two days before the team opened its semifinal playoff series against Utah, when popular assistant coach Bill Musselman lost a six-month battle with a rare disease, primary systemic amyloidosis. Two weeks earlier, the Blazers lost their regular season finale at home to Denver, 96-95, and failed to post the franchise's second 60-win season. CONTINUE READING/Become a fan of this team

    1990-91: Overall record: 63-19 (1st in league)
The Trail Blazers picked up where they left off the previous season when they were in the NBA Finals and captured world-wide basketball attention. They posted the league's best record, 63-19, the most wins ever by the franchise. They opened by winning their first 11 games and 19 of their first 20. They took their first eight away from home, extending a road winning streak over two seasons to 12 which equaled the second longest in NBA history. CONTINUE READING/Become a fan of this team

I was very tempted to go with the 2000 team, because they had the Lakers beat but gave them the game, while the 91 team were completely outplayed, but in the end, I felt the team as a whole was much more complete in 91. Porter and Drexler gives Portland a remarkable advantage in the backcourt, Buck could D up Sheed, while the Pippen-Kersey head-to-head would be excellent to watch. Bottom line is Portland had a more heady team in 91, which showed in their heart how they fought back to reach the Finals the following year while the 00 team imploded amongst one another.

63 wins, 3 all-stars, and quite possibly one of the greatest teams to never win an NBA title. 99-00 got lucky getting past the Champs, but their luck runs out here. Rasheed, the '00's best player, is easily susceptible to mind games and I think Buck would rattle him up big time. If Buck could D up arguably the greatest PF of All-Time in Karl Malone both in 91 and 82, then he'd have a cake walk with Sheed. Also, I could see TP just drain 3's all day long over the top of Mighty Mouse while Drexler would work the much older Steve Smith all over the court.

That is a great match-up... but I don't think 99-00 could handle 90-91 defensively. TP would tear up Damon and I don't think an older Scottie could handle Clyde in his prime. Arvydas is the only upgrade even though Duck was an All-Star... I think Arvydas would have been craftier. Buck Williams would have shut 'Sheed down. In fact, now that I'm thinking of this... I don't think it would be a close series. 5 games probably.

    Here it is real simple.

Damian you are a public figure now, therefore, you have zero privacy. The kid took your photo while walking outside, he didn''t scope you out in the men''s room, not a big deal. Lastly, your name...

Maybe we should go for Pekovic as a restricted free agent and see what Minn will do.

Time will tell. As it is well known round these parts, I do not have much hope for athletic big men. (JJ Hickson doesn''t count).

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Magic have a center and tons of young talent, extra picks and a future with a lot of cap space so yah the MAGIC.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
