Trail Blazers Integrate Papa John's Special Offers Into Digital Platforms

    Pizza company offers 50% off online orders during Trail Blazers games

    PORTLAND, Ore. (January 3, 2013) – The Portland Trail Blazers have teamed up with Papa John’s Pizza to provide the team’s digital audience with a special offer and a chance to win tickets during Trail Blazers games.

    Fans that log-on to trailblazers.com during Trail Blazers games are directed to the “Game In-Progress” page, which provides current stats, videos, photos and a live chat with other fans. The Game In-Progress page now includes a special offer from Papa John’s Pizza: a promo code for 50% off any online order placed during a Trail Blazers game.

    “We view the Game In-Progress page as the second screen experience for fans to use during our games,” said Trail Blazers Sr. Director of Interactive Media and Marketing Dan Harbison. “It’s an important part of our digital strategy to connect fans and provide an expanded experience. This is just the beginning of where the industry is going, and we look forward to further enhancing the fan experience.”

    Papa John’s Pizza has also made it easy for fans to win tickets to an upcoming Trail Blazers game. Anyone that “checks-in” during games on trailblazers.com, or the team’s official iPhone app, Trail Blazers Mobile, will be entered to win a pair of lower bowl tickets to an upcoming game. The check-in can be made from any location. One winner will be selected each month during the 2012-13 regular season.

    “Papa John’s is excited to deliver our ‘Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.’ brand promise to all the Portland Trail Blazers fans,” said Ian Sonneborn, Marketing Director with Rose City Pizza, LLC and representative of Seattle Co-op. “We’re fans, too, and because of that we’re hoping for plenty of Trail Blazers victories this season.”

    In addition to the monthly winners, five fans that have checked-in during the season will be selected to receive a pair of tickets to the team’s regular season finale April 17 against the Golden State Warriors. Those five winners will also be offered a spot in the t-shirt exchange with the Trail Blazers starting five during the pregame introductions.
