Wesley Matthews To Partner With Fred Meyer For Third Annual Coat Drive

    Shopping spree and autograph signing to support coat drive
     
    PORTLAND, Ore. – Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews, in partnership with Fred Meyer, will host his third annual coat drive benefiting Police Activities League (PAL) children.
     
    "I always look forward to partnering with Fred Meyer this time of year to provide warm coats for PAL youth and their families," said Matthews. "We have had a lot of success the past two years, but I’m hoping this year’s drive will be the best one yet.”
     
    All area Fred Meyer locations will accept new and gently used coats from Nov. 2-18.
     
    The coat drive will come to the Rose Garden on Saturday, Nov. 10 as Portland plays host to the San Antonio Spurs. Fans can drop off their coats during ingress.
     
    "Portland has amazing fans in every way,” said Matthews. “They provide the same support for our community efforts as our performance on the floor. I am just grateful to be in a position to give back to the youth and the community I live and work in."
     
    Matthews will join 20 local PAL youth to pick out coats for the drive and themselves at the Johnson Creek Fred Meyer (8955 SE 82nd Ave.) on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 3-5 p.m.
     
    Matthews will also hold an autograph session at the Beaverton Fred Meyer (11425 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy.) on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 3-4:30 p.m.
