If you would have told me that our Blazers would have a better record than the Lakers at this time of the season , id have told you to let me hit some of whatever you're burnin. But as it stands as of today, we're 19-15, and they're 15-19. Thats a beautiful thing. I've always despised teams that buy talent,as opposed to incorporating talent. Miami is another team that did the former. The biggest difference between the two of them is that L.A., unlike Miami has been able to get "Bigs". Miami's one glaring weakness is that they have really no one in the pivot to get rebounds. I look for JJ and L.A. if he plays to have a huge night on the boards for us. Claver too has shown that he is willing to get in the mix and grab a few boards. I think tomorrow night will come down to our ability to shut down two of their three best players. LeBron is unstoppable, but Wade and Bosh can be contained. This would be a great time to play L.A. at the center spot against Bosh. Udonis vs JJ, even though Haslem has a nice outside shot,i think JJ edges him in overall productivity. Miami plays small ball because they have to. I read that Miami is the only team with a winning record against us in our house. We have to change that.

Welcome back homie!  I agree with your thought of starting LA at the 5.  I also look for Dame to have one of his better performances of the year.  Miami is in somewhat of a quandry with defending Portland.  As you have pointed out, they're not exactly blessed with bigs.  What will they do with Lillard?  Anxious to see what Spoelstra has up his sleeve with regard to keeping Dame from getting the Blazers into their sets.  This game really could come down to Stotts v Spoelstra.  Like it.

Indeed. And least we forget, Stotts was part of that Dallas squad that mashed Miami in the Championships.Miami relys heavily on three guys to carry the load, with an occassional showing from their role players. We have to keep a hand in the face of Ray Allen. He is definitely a better shooter than Reddick and get light it up in a hurry. Especially coming off screens. JJ and Sasha both played with LeBron in Cleveland so i hope they can sream out some tendencies. That boy is a handful. He averages 29 ppg against us. If we can make him take tough shots and hold him to 22 or less , we have action. Plus, we are going to need everyone to commit to help defense when he goes down in the post. Everyone has to go to the boards. I think if we win the boards and points in the paint , we handle them. Definitely would be a great victory for us to beat them.

Lebron is going to get his just like Melo did in NY but you're right, shut down the rest of the team and we can win this game!

Before I chime in I also like to say it good to see your post common the boards just isn't the same without your perspective anyway, I agree LA and JJ should have a field day in the paint we are definitely gonna have a fight on our hands after the Heats game against Indiana LeBron called out his teammates and I expect them to try and have a statement game on the road since they lost 3 of their last 4 on the road we are gonna need all hands on deck to pull this on out and the Blazers know this as they recall Barton and Nolan, my money on Stotts against Spoelstra even though Spo has improved Terry is just more creative. Defense and TO's are the two main things to focus on if we do well in both we should pull out a win Go Blazers! BEAT THE HEAT!

Love what I'm hearing about the matchup and how we can best handle it; honestly, I think our young and fast team could play much more effectively against a LOT of teams if they made a conscious effort to push more inside play instead of the long shots (congrats on tying the franchise record for 16 3's in a game).

One thing to remember for tomorrow though; Stotts has been sick! I agree that this game could be a matchup of the coaches, as long as our players stay focused for 48, but if it comes to that, will Terry be ready and clear-headed enough to make it work?

Terrys got a SKYPE account so if he is sick,im going to need him to be available online to call plays off the hip. We have to give JJ all the help he can on the boards. Thats how you beat Miami. Crash the boards all night. Im thinking about Claver right now. He's due for a good game. But we are going to need stellar play from everyone to beat this Heat team.  From top to bottom, everyone has to make a contribution.

More than this impressive victory,im equally grateful for the naysayers. The haters who sleep on this little squad of ours. We're not even at the half way point yet and we're surprising everyone but ourselves. Confidence and cohesion has us looking like the little engine that could. How about my boy Wesley with that step back three. I lost my voice. When we got to within five i couldnt help but think, they must not have heard about us in close games. We're coming for that a@!. And what can we say about Batum other than spec-frickin-tacular. And as i said, hell we all said, keep Lebron away from his average against us and we win. That proved to be prophetic. Heres' what was said on that.......

Matthews’ defense on James — the Blazer killer — was stout and sturdy all night long. With Matthews at his side seemingly everywhere he moved on the court, James finished just 6 of 16 from the field and was held to less than 20 points for the first time this season. He entered the game averaging 31.2 points per game at the Rose Garden — the most of any player in arena history. But he was held to roughly half that Thursday night.

Outstanding job by Wesley to hold this monster in check, and still have something left in the tank to knock down two huge dagger threes. Rip City !!!!!!    In the words of Mike Rice........Im Lovin' It !!!

I''m not talking about those kinda calls, but phantom calls. Kobe gets soooo many phantom calls. I like Lebron, but I know because he''s a superstar he gets certain actions overlooked. Kobe just gets random stuff called. Remember when Kobe smacked...

Oh, sorry Damian, you make so many I stopped reading them. I don''t because I don''t know much about salaries and stuff. Stephenson would be great, excellent rebounder, Tough Defender, is playing awesome in  today''s  game.

Siccolo, did you mean heavier or lighter? I don''t think Noel will do well in the league. If he stays healthy long enough, he might be a half decent starter, if not, Greg Oden.

Damian, you are completely right on that, let''s just hope it''s not a negative impact (Shout out, Ray Ray). And since when did people WANT to come to Portland? This is great.

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
