Trail Blazers (2-5) Vs Hawks (2-5)

    What To Watch For

    Paint Points
With DeMarcus Cousins serving a suspension for his confrontation with Spurs television broadcaster, Sean Elliot, the paint now becomes an open area for the Trail Blazers to set up shop. And it isn't open for just the Blazer bigs. Lillard and Batum should have more room to operate without fear of getting his shot blocked. But this mainly pertains to LaMarcus Aldridge, who we need to have a big night in the post. LA is shooting just .425 from the field, down from his career .493 average. While the ball may not move as freely by running post-ups, there are still opportunities to get ball movement by sending cutters down the lane or kicking it out for an open 3 if/when the double team comes.

    Bench Scoring
This is going to be a key to watch nearly every game, but the past two games have been tough. The Trail Blazer bench has only accounted for 10 points. Total. That means out Starting 5 must play out of their minds for a prolonged period of time and even sometimes that isn't enough as we saw against the Clippers. We need to establish a reserve who we can count on for a few buckets. Not a 6th Man-type, because I don't think he's on this roster, but someone who can bring 5-6 points a night. For this team to be successful moving on, the bench must account for at least 15 points a night.

There is still a lot of talent there in Sac and this will be a hostile environment.  Don't freak out if we lose people.  Hopefully our guys are ready to crush somebody after those last two losses.  And this is a ripe opportunity.  It's an equally ripe opportunity for Sac to end their woes.  Jimmer Ferdette, Aaron Brooks, Tyreke Evans, Isaah Thomas, Jason Thompson, Thomas Robinson, Chuck Hayes,  and Marcus Thornton will be doing their best to see to that.  That is a deep roster despite their lack of success this year.  Oh, and btw, one Travis Outlaw will be relied on for heavy minutes.  Ex Blazers DO love to go TOTALLY F-ING OFF against us even if they suck against everyone else.  Good luck Blazers!  I'll be watching.

Be strong, play fast, share the basketball, stop your man from shooting easy shots. Let's keep it simple and get this win. Go Blazers!!

With Cousins out tonight, I expect JJ to have a career game. LaMarcus will have a chip after blowing the endgame last night and I think we need at least one blow out win with starters sitting out the 4th..tonight could be that night. Our bench needs that too...a cushion to get the rust off and get in a flow. I'm optimistic we'll take this one and hopeful it's a smackdown!

Please have two bench players in double digits tonight? I'm hoping for Price and Pavlovic to bring it.

Keep feeding it down low to LA and JJ. Plain and simple. Doing that will have our other three hitting threes.

And, Master Chef, u were right.  That felt good.  A little small market on small market violence.  Especially with that late foul from Luke.  He just does not do himself any favors with decisions like that.  Did anyone see Hickson get blocked by the rim.  lol.  Another double double for JJ, Nice!  Well, looks like our road woes are over.  Now we have to get back to winning to home?

What are we in the hunt for? Losing to Atlanta at home sucks,we should be 4-4,we better lay the smackdown on those melee mouth bastards from houston and improve to 4-5,and as far as brandon roy goes,he shoulda stayed retired, and done us all a favor,he just embarassing himself

Apologies to LaMarcus for calling him out in the game chat for choking those freethrows at the end of the Hawks loss, I had no idea he was shooting with a freshly sprained shooting hand. I predicted when Roy signed with Minnesota that he'd be done for by the allstar break. No meniscus is no meniscus..I have a torn one that's healed over and still bothers me, to have none has to be brutal! We should smack down Houston at home. Hey, our bench actually scored 19 pts in Sac! That's a season record! Crack out the champaigne!

For the love of god, if someone voluntarily compares their offence to JR Smith do not draft him. JR is so inconsistent. So is Carmelo. People only focus on the clutch shots he makes, but they don''t see that if he played well and took good shots, ...

Agree with you 200% Siccolo. He fouled Rubio on that potential game winner, no call. He just fell when he hurt his knee, they call a foul on his defender. He has been helped by the refs so often, and if anyone says he wasn''t, I got a boatload of ...

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
