So, what do you think about the coaches brought in by Stotts ? Jay Triano has been around awhile. The other two i dont know much about but i hear good things. Hughes i read has a twin brother who is also 6'11". Both would be nice to have actually. And my man Kaleb as the defensive coach, which i said would happen. So did we actually get better as a coaching staff than McMillans crew ? What are your thoughts ?

There will be offense in Portland. I'm still concerned as far as our defense goes. I don't want to be the next Phoenix or Golden State, scoring and no defense has got them nowhere. I guess we will see how good Canales really is.

Well many people around the league talked greatly about these guys. Hughes can teach Leoanrd to  be a better pick and pop player and a good post player. Which is good for Leonard because he is already a defensive minded player. Im excited.

Like Benh I dont want to be like PHO or GS.

I agree. Phoenix and Golden State while exciting to watch, lacked defensive substance.

Kaleb got some decent defense out of the guys during his interim coaching and summer league. I do like him better as a defensive coordinator than the guy calling all the shots during the game. His background in video means he knows about the opponents around the league, and that will inform his defensive coaching.

I honestly don't know much about the other guys. Triano has some good experience, but the most important I think is his Olympic experience with guys like Steve Nash. I know nothing about Hughes, but having a big to help coach the bigs is great.

Nobody wants a PHX or GS situation here, but I really don't see that happening. PHX and GS don't/didn't have many defensive minded players in the first place. We have Nic, Wes, and Meyers who are all defense-first guys. LA doesn't shy away from defense, and he'll rotate, help, and block shots. Damian isn't a great defender right now, but he certainly isn't lazy on defense, he just doesn't know that side of the court as well yet. We also have some pretty good defenders on the bench like JJ, Nolan, Jeffries, and to a lesser extent Barton and Elliot. Nobody's lazy on defense, and Kaleb certainly won't let them get lazy.

I think it is terrible, a bunch of never was, not even has bins, Hughs 6'-11" but how is someone who was never a quality NBA player teach Leonard anything but how to live on a small salary. I think even the rookies won't have faith in this misfit group that some people seem to think is a true coaching staff.

I would rather have had Canales as our head coach at least at the end of the season the new GM could say "hey somebody else put him in this position, I only had a few nobody's to pick from" as it is he will have to take credit for this choice.

At least Kaleb wont be made the scapegoat. Phil Jackson,Rick carlisle,Coach Pop,Coach Karl, Spoelstra, none of these guys were super athletes or players but turned out to be exceptional coaches.

Scott Brooks was never an allstar and he coached the finals. Eric Spoelstra didn't win any scoring titles...being a great coach has nothing to do  with being a great player..if it did Jordan, Ewing, Barkley, McMillan and on and on would have won rings as coaches. Phil Jackson was a stiff when he played for the Knicks. Popovich wasn't an allstare either. Jerry Sloan had a reputation of being a master flopper when he played. I like the Stotts crew. It's a team of coaches that makes success. not an individual.

Nice Idea but I think the TWolves trade is very lobsided in our favor

Derrick Williams and Budinger are proven players in the league. Claver and Freeland are not

Hawes was playing nice this season and would be a good pick up imo ...

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.
