Heard that Olshey was reaching out to Derek Fisher. This would be a perfect fit for a veteran PG to come in and mentor Lillard. I did not think he was a UFA...maybe not?

Also heard Jose Calderon name being mentioned.

Any other PG's that you have heard about?

Derek Fisher could not guard a card board cut out and shot a robust 34% from the field last year. The dude is a career 40% shooter who had value cause he defended, was an excellent flopper and could knock down an open 3. He now cannot defend, shoots 30% from distance, and would be pretty much worthless to this team.

I definitely DON'T WANT Fisher in here. He's less skillful among all PG's in the league ( I don't care about his mental & mentoring) He's totally useless , kind of guy who must be always aware when going to make an open layup to don't be chase down and swapped by anybody. And he's a loyal Laker anyway - we shouldn't hire him.\!!!

You are right ! He became kind of stretch point guard (which sounds funny and actually it is) , just waiting in the corner and try to shoot from time to time (with not very good %) . He's defense now is based on pushing out his opponent by his chest. Hiring him will be a HUGE MISTAKE. He doesn't fit & belong here. !

Ok, then WHO else would you want who IS available and cheap to play 10 - 15 minutes a game? Someone who CAN be a mentor to Damian Lillard.

someone on one of the countless blogs I read concerning the Blazers mentioned Rodney Stuckey and I think he's the perfect guard for Portland to pair with Lillard. He's never been happy in Detroit, is from Seattle and has game. Younger than Fisher and way more athletic. Detroit probably would like to tank this year and climb up the lottery draft since the east has gotten much deeper. I believe he was drafted in the same class as BRoy and has stayed pretty healthy. Calderon is a question mark for me although Claver would like playing with a fellow countryman.

This would have been a great pickup, but we did sign Ronnie Price. I think Fisher would've been a good mentor to Lillard and Smith.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
