I love Damian Lillard as our future point guard, but I still think we could use another one with more than a year of playing experience because I doubt Nolan Smith can show Lillard how to be a star point guard. It may also be too late, but could it hurt to get a veteran point guard on free agency? I also think we should offer Batum in all honesty for a vet or passing PG. I just don't like the fact that we only have 2 new point guards on the roster and possibly a new coach (Canales) to teach them.

Damian Lillard will need to play all the time. The coaches in Portland and other mentors will teach DL all he needs. I think he could be an impact player with LA, Nic, and Wes as his passing options. THis team is starting to shape up nicely but might not make the Play offs. I think it is on LA more than a point  now.

Here is the reason we need a vet, injuries. Last night Nolan rolled his ankle and if that had happened in the regular season we would only have 1 PG. Picking up someone like Delonte West would be a smart play since he will be affordable, he works hard, and he plays good tough defense even if ear poking is illegal.

For the price I think Delonte West is a great backup. I think it is more important to hire a good PG assistant coach like Terry Porter or John Stockton.

you need a guy to mentor the young guys at the guard position. mbmurr has it right, you dont need a player for that. When you look at our projected starters and key rotation guys theyre all young. This core has a chance to grow together and be something. A vet would just muddy the waters and the connection established by a core of young guys rising together (blazers circa 2008, or okc now)

2 PGs are not enough you do not want a veteran fine but we need some depth

I saw the summer league game last night and I was impressed with how Nolan Smith played.  I saw a lot of improvement in his game.  I am not saying he would take the place of a vet but he does add some depth at pg.

Or Shane Larkin ? This kid is 5''11" with a 44" vertical. Absolutely lighting it up for Miami.

although I do think that eraser head haircut is a little rediculous and outdated but none the less kid could either be huge or a complete bust and at this point if we had that number 1 pick I wouldn''t pass on him then I''d go out and get someone ...

Yeah It would be a good deal for them but who Olshey isnt reading this haha. If we can do this trade to start our off season we would be in great shape.

Rip a cap hold is a number given to free agents. Basically the cap hold is added to the teams salaries at the start of free agency. So for example a team has 10 million in cap space but has 15 million in cap holds they are technically over the sal...

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

As long as he stops pulling the ball down in the post I will be happy nothing more annoying than watching that happen several times a game
