    NO will is looking to fully rebuild, have a hard time seeing how eric gorden is going to fit in, in all of this. Do you think NO would be willing to trade up to 6? Look like this- Eric Gorden and pick 10 for matthews and pick 6 +40?

    What this does for both sides, is gives NO a chance to take Drummond (solidify there C and continues with the rebuild theme) and can give a clear look at Matthews; Handing him the team for the first year and say to him, "prove you can carry us and be a core piece in our future (also in the rebuild theme.) Can also pursue a pg such as Gragic. This team would be on the right track.

    What this does for portland is gives us a third core piece to build this team on.  Batum, LA, and Eric Gorden is a solid core to start with. Lillard may still be available at 10 because NO will go after the big at 6.

    Problem is Gordon like Batum is a free agent and cannot be traded for draft picks this year. Plus, I believe the whole purpose of their trade today was to keep Gordon.

    did not know about not being able to trade for picks, but why do you think the trade was to keep gorden? Think the trade was to clear up space after this season (believe lewis is last yr contract) (21 mil a year) so they can go after young tallent to build around anthony davis, not to build around eric gorden

    According to reports they plan to waive Lewis reducing his cap figure to 13 million this season which would open an addition 7 million in cap space.

    ok that makes sense, still I believe  NO might look to build around there new number one pick, and i think they would love to gamble a little on drummond. It fills an immediate need at center and gives them a person who can be great

    maybe I am being to selfish, but the idea here is after getting rid of Matthews slightly ugly contract, with the 6 mil upgrade to eric gordon would be a very good fix in my opinion, and being able to pick at 10 would just make more sense than at 6 because most players at that point are not blazer players. On top of that we have more money to play with, gives us more room to offer JJ, and look at a starting center and maybe billups?

    Billups? 6 mil, Lillard rookie money (10th pick),  smith1.5
    gorden13-14 range, williams 1.5
    batum9, babbit 2(we need someone else here)
    LA  13.5, JJ 5
    Hawes? (not sure here) maybe 3 million, leonard (11 pick)

    like the balance struck here, but if you say it's not legal and they are really building around the combo of gorden/davis I guess it makes sense

    btw I said hawes because he is cheap, but i do not like him, just insert mid range center with decent skills here ;) thank you

    Hawes will be more expensive than you expect I would say around 5 million.

    still decent cheap, think a good center with pick 11 to back up a middle talent guy for 3-7 million, would be ok in this situation, just till the 11th pick shows he is ready

    If Lilliard gets past #6 then I think he will be gone at #8.  This means we would be drafting #10 and #11 absent any additional trades.  We should be trying to get a pg and a big?  who thinks we can accomplish this?  I do not think we can do this if we follow best player available at any time.
