According to SI.com, Brandon Roy confirmed his return on his friends twitter account, as well as answering quesitons. I feel very excited for him, but cant help to feel a little disappointed that he can play for any team he wants EXCEPT us. I love the guy and will cheer for him on any team he plays for (except the lakers). Good luck BRoy and I hope to see you return to Portland in 2014.

I would love to just watch and root for him again no matter what teams he's on.  It give me a second team to root for if the Blazers aren't doing well..

Absolutely nothing against Brandon, but I will be a little irritated if a guy that filed for a "career ending injury" will return after only one season off. In any other profession, that's called a sabbatical or a leave of absence. I would feel as though the Blazers were baited into exercising amnesty on Brandon's contract when we could have kept him on the inactive list for a season.

I really do want him to play in the NBA again. But after one lockout-shortened season, his return to another team would feel more like abandonment than miraculous recovery.

im not sure the blazers wanted him to come back and play for the team at from a financial standpoint. maybe the team should've shown him more loyalty than they did when they amnestied him. i remember when he announced his retirement there were articles insinuating the team pressured brandon into retirement. maybe they were bs but then again there might've been some truth to that. who knows?
i get what you're saying about feeling somewhat betrayed with him coming back and all, i feel like that too but i dont hold it against brandon. it stings to think that the organization didn't do everything in it's power to keep such an important part of the franchise. you never know what happens behind closed doors so my loyalty is with the players more than an organization, because at the end of the day it's just business.

True, Unholy. And I think the reality of the situation is that Portland unintentionally pressured Brandon into retirement. His career as the number one option is over, but it would have been impossible for him to return to the Blazers without being the top player and number one guy. So that might have been where the pressure came from. McMillan was talking about starting him again. Everyone was expecting more from him after the long off season. Maybe it was not a problem of playing basketball but a problem of carrying the Blazers for another season.

That said, in the realm of injuries and freak occurrences, it really hurts to watch Portland get the shaft yet again.

I hope he doesn't come back and really hurts himself. Didn't he say that if he were to play at this level of competition again he has a good chance to never be able to walk again? If thats the case then don't risk it, i would love to see brandon roy play again but not at that cost.

Call me cold-hearted, but at this point, I just don't care. He's not going to play on the Trail Blazers and he's a shell of his former self. For his sake, I hope he succeeds, but he's playing with two knees that have no meniscus, basically bone on bone. That just can't be good for his long-term health. There's a reason why his Doc told him to hang it up. But I understand that he's just 28 and he's still got the itch to play; I just hope he doesn't look back in 5 years and regret it.

It was hard enough watching Roy during his last year in Portland. He couldn't move on defense and lost his ability to explode to the hoop on offense; it was brutal to watch. I just don't want to see him diminish his legacy.

Claver will make a great squad player when he develops his outside shot. His size is an asset because he can guard SF and stretch 4s. If he can be a better rebounder and add a post move to his game we could be looking at a possible answer to our f...

Oden was definitely the best pick coming out of high school and arguably ahead of Durant in the 2007 draft. But the draft is art not science and we really needed a dominant center at the time. If we can get Oden for a short term low-risk deal. Lik...

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
