After watching the 4th quarter of game 7 of celtics v sixers... i cant help but day dream about rondo as a blazer.... granted - we would have to move heaven and earth to get him (batum + matthews?) - but what a big time player and what a champion. (rondo... to aldridge for the alley!) - has a ring to it, ay? - what are your thoughts?

Portland wouldn't have to move much, it's just a matter if he would be willing to play here. By the way it looks the biggest obstacle would be to convince Paul Allen and Larry Miller to bring him here.

Wouldn't have to move much that is one of the worst I have seen on the chat in a long time.

Rondo after yet another playoff triple double would not be available for cheap if at all.
The idea that we could just get him for Matthews an over paid role player / average NBA starter and a N. Batum sign and trade is ridiculous.
For Boston to not ask for LA would be a miracle and without him it would take both lottery picks and someone like Elliot Williams at the bare minimum.
A more realistic asking price from Boston would be Nico sign and trade, Elliot Williams and both lottery picks.

Yes he would look great in Portland but he won't make it here unless Ainge has a meltdown

Considering LA's contract and Rondo's contract are almost the same. I would say that it would be a trade straight across with the Celts having to give a second round pick or cash to even it out. With the draft sitting the way it is being PF heavy it might not be a bad idea since at that point we could sign J.J. who is not LA but he is younger and he is not as soft as LA. But I do not think that this deal would go down since LA has just come off of Hip surgery. As for Batum and Matthews for Rondo I think Ainge would have to be stoned to do it but who knows since Bradley? and Allen are both hurt.Bradley? is out for the season and Allen is playing through his injury. We would have to sign Batum to what he wants and then if Ainge backs out we would be stuck with Batum's big contract and no PG,and less cap space something to think about when you are talking about a sign and trade for Batum especially when he pretty much says that we are the last for his consideration.

Utah's Blake Ahearn would look good in a Blazers uniform. We need players, and lots of them.

I think the only thing to this- is daron williams, i think williams to boston is intriguing for both sides and Boston would consider trading rondo if they knew they could grab williams

I like the idea of a three team trade, Nets sign and trade D.Williams, Blazers sign and trade Batum and send them to Boston. Boston sends rondo to the Blazers and the Nets get Ray Allen plus Bostons two first round draft picks and Luke babbitt from Portland and two second round picks.

    Nets get:
    R. Allen
    L. Babbitt
    Bostons 20 & 21 2012 draft picks
    Portlands 40 & 41 2012 draft picks

    Celtics get:
    D. Williams
    N. Batum

    Blazers get:
    R. Rondo

I think everyone wins, we get the point guard we always wanted and we could draft H. Barnes to hold down the 3 spot. Buy a early second round pick and draft D. Miller from kentucky.

Three sign and trades on the same deal would be really hard to pull off. Plus Ray Allen's play lately has really brought up big time concerns.

Oh sweet, so Rondo can pass to who? Rondo is a good player but he is also surrounded by shooters. With any trade we would have to get rid of the players that would make Rondo work.

Rondo would pass to W. Matthews, give Matthews some credit he isn't a bad shooter a little inconsistent but with his unbelievable work ethic he will fix it. We could draft H. Barnes i know he can shoot the ball like crazy and Lamarcus has a sweet jump shoot.

^rondo and nash? way to small  doubt rondo can defend a sg, and dont think 2 players that need ball in their hand can work (specially when one can not shoot 3's)

Three way trade could be possible now that the Nets screwed themselves over this draft season. Mikhail Prokovic will be rolling over in his grave when thinking about this summer. Anyways, point is, Nets are desperate for picks. If we gave our #6 back to them and did a three-way trade to get Rondo, I would be ecstatic. Draft Zeller with #11 and you have goals #1 and 2 covered.

after watching g2 of heat v celts, i dont think boston will be giving up rondo very easily... what if they ask for LA? ...they could do that rightfully so... but, would, we, let, him, go?
