Blazers expected to move guard Andre Miller and center Marcus Camby before trade deadline, source said.

And here's Camby's response to all of this trade  talk
    The Columbian
Camby, after trade questions: "If I would have known that I'd be in this situation, I wouldn't have signed my extension last year."

This is really the first I've heard of Camby being thrown out there in trade talks and as much as I'd hate for them to be true, those Yahoo! guys are generally on top of things. I don't know where they get their info, but it's fast and credible the majority of the time. I guess the bigger question is, what would Camby fetch us on the trade market?

I agree with Camby.  Why the hell would we trade Joel AND Camby?  I can't wait until this deadline is passed.

I hope this is just a rumor.  I mean, I've heard plenty of talk with Andre Miller... but now Camby is thrown in the mix?  I'd like to stick with both VETERANS please...  We've been building to the future for how many years now?  Save the trades for the off season, so we can see what this team is all about.  Besides... it looks like all the players are loving it here and the chemistry is great.  They're asking to stay!!!  What more can you ask for from your players??

    Stay with Dre!!!

Age for assets.  Sorry guys.  I would like to feel the way I do now about our team for the next several years.  Portland is a small market, with taxes, alot of rain, predictable snubs, and no night life.  This is the only realistic way for us to improve.

The draft is another, however, we haven't done so well in recent years...with the exception of '06.  Speaking of the LA draft, before you go thinking that Portland seems to be the only franchise that can't make the right decisions come draft time...consider Andrea Bargnani being chosen 1st, OVER Aldridge.  Ooops.

The NBA has been intentionally set up by design with all of the CBA rules, etc... to encourage parity. The worst thing to be in this system is AVERAGE, or MEDIOCRE. That's what we are. The 6 game win streak is fun. It makes you feel like we have something here. 50 win seasons are a good thing, and lots of fun... I get that, but remember how you felt when we lost 6 in a row on that eastern conference road trip we had when we went to NJ, Philly, Det, etc... or a few weeks ago when we got blown out by Indy? When you're average in this league, it's hard to get out of that funk. You're not a lottery team, so you don't get great picks, you don't have the superstars, you don't have tons of options when it comes to trades. That's us. I don't know if Harris is the answer or not, I'm sort of on the fence - but here's what I do know...

This team is going to make the playoffs. This team is also very likely to be a 5-8 seed, meaning we wont have home court advantage, meaning we're not favored to win in the first round, meaning chances are we're going out in the first round again. That sucks, but it's true. That's who we are right now.

I don't want us to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade, but we need to take chances. This team has to be changed. We have to think a little longer term and break out of the mediocrity rut we're in. It's going to hurt a little, but it has to happen.

Ask yourself what Cho and Allen have to. Do you want to keep this team good? winning 50 a year? fun and entertaining to watch, selling out games, profitable... and a perrenial first round casualty year after year after year?

As fans we overvalue our own players. We want to win with what we have. I can tell a lot of you feel that way, and I do to, but to get better, we have to embrace the change. Let your assets go when it makes sense to do it no matter who they are. Watch the team take a step forward every year like we were. Don't settle for mediocrity. Love your players while they're yours, but don't let your loyalty cloud the vision. If I was Cho I would trade my own mother if it would make us a contender. It can always get better, and frankly - around here, it has to.

I'm really don't want to get on anyones nerves with that. I've just been thinking that way for most of this year. We have to either stay where we are or move. Like Scottie said when he was here, this team is entertaining, but not designed to win a championship (could have been except for injuries).

I know we have an owner that wants to win. Not every franchise can say that. I'm just going to kick back and watch our front office go to work.

At least that's how I see it. Blazer fans are the best but we have to learn to let go. Go Blazers.

If the Blazers rade Camby, they'd better get a Nene or someone of equal or better then Camby ability. Don't try and put Dante 40 minutes a night against all the monsters in the playoff push Cho, he'd get squished!!

The trigger-happy Rockets have redoubled their efforts to acquire Marcus Camby from Portland, sources say.
Also of note, I believe teams can be granted extensions if they are in trade talks past the deadline of Noon.

Always said if they trade Miller or Camby I won't renew my season tickets.  And this year I'm holding firm, I'm outa here. It kind of seems like it's all about making sure GM's have a purpose during the season.  Should Phoenix trade Nash (he's old) or Dallas, Jason Kidd (he's old). They're not spring chickens but they sure bring it to the table.  I guess what frustrates me the most is that basketball is such a mental game, and no one seems to think it's significant when players stop giving their hearts. The fans are expected to create the love of "team" even if the players are interchangable pieces, not the players; they're trained to say and believe "it's a business -that's all." To me, it takes away from the game so much that I don't know who I'm rooting for. I've really begun to appreciate San Antonio so much. I suspec their fans know who their rooting for, whose jersey to buy. I've really begun to appreciate San Antonio so much.  Wonder how LaMarcus feels about trading those two?  I'm just sick of it. Come on Marcus - retire.

we arent trading anyone - and honestly i think that is the best move we have - resign joel- he looked great last night - sparks of the former joel. and i would like to see him retire as a blazer - keep Miller here and go with what we have

Looks like Gerald Wallace is a Blazer.  Sent Joel and two first round picks.  Can't say I'm bummed about this.  Looks like Blazers are starting to build for "now" and not "later" anymore.

Camby and Miller aren't going. I can't think of a reasonable two player combo that would want to stay in Portland and help this team win the way they are. Not only are these two helping us winning with their play, they are the only savvy veterans we have left and every team needs at least two of those guys.
