Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1974-75 vs 1970-71 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1974-75: Overall record: 38-44 (12th in league, tie, 6th in conference, 3rd in division) Future Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens took over the coaching reigns and guided the Trail Blazers to a 38 -44 finish, the best in the young franchise's first five seasons and just three victories shy of earning the club's first playoff appearance. The Blazers, 13 games under .500 on February 23 (24-37), came on strong to win 14 of their last 21 and just miss a post-season berth. CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

1970-71: Overall record: 29-52 (15th in league, 9th in conference, 5th in division) The Trail Blazers inaugural season was far more exciting for fans than the club's 29-52 finish indicates. The record was the best of the three 1970 NBA expansion teams (Buffalo was 22-60 and Cleveland 15-67) and was the second-best ever by a first-year franchise. Plenty of action was provided at both ends of the floor: Coach Rolland Todd's club had the league's fourth most productive offense, averaging 115.5 points a game behind only the world champion Milwaukee Bucks, Boston and Cincinnati, but the Blazers were dead last in points allowed, giving up 120.0 per contest. For nothing other than sentimental purposes, how can you not vote for the original Trail Blazers? Plus, 29 wins in an expansion season with huge wins over NBA powerhouses is very impressive.

I would LOVE to agree with you and say our beloved 70-71 team, however in the year Wilkens came in we had alot better rounded out team and the scoring was better distributed. We had JJ, Rick, and of course Lloyd Neal. I actually loved watching this team play, but once again we all knew one of the big stars had to go and sacrafice that for more team players. They would have won many more games that year had they played better defence and commited less fouls. I remember being so mad at Greg Smith all the time because whenever he came into a game you could always count on him picking up 2 fouls before he hit the bench again. Aggresive play is good, but hacking away is not. LOL

Got go with the 74-75 team on this one :-)

    peace out,
    daddy

Dont think they trade him for JJ tho, they can just sign Hickson.

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...

I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
