Sign & Trade JJ, along with Wes (I hate to say that, I would rather say Batum), for Asik and Jeremy Lin (even with those ugly contracts for 2014-2015).

However with the new CBA they can renegotiate if they want a long term deal.

Then our front line would be:

    PF - LMA

    C - Asik

    PG - Damian

    SG- Jeremy Line

SF - Batum (Still trying to figure out a way to dump him)

I am a fan of WES, the heart and soul of the Blazers.

i want batum and wesley back. batum was a all-star before freeland broke him. wesley is the heart and the soul of this team.

sign and trade jj, sasha for asik. we don't need lin, he sucks, he need to go back to the knicks where linsanity all started and ended.

    lillard/mccollum/fa

    wesley/barton

    batum/crabbe/claver

    aldridge/t-rob/freeland

    asik/leonard/withey

this team is super young. olshey can't trade away aldridge or trade for any older player that is older then aldridge, once every player reach their prime. can you imagine this team. we be rocking on espn sportcenter top 10 play every night

I am a fan of Damian Lilard leading us to a title and MVP to him, LA and MEYERS

Houston don't need a SG, they have Harden. They want to dump cash, so they can just get some low end cheap SG. That leaves them to sign JJ outright. I am really hoping we can sign and trade JJ and someone for Asik, but I don't think it's likely.

Freeland and Sasha for Asik, and get me Luke Ridenour as a third string point. That leaves us with enough to sign Tony Allen. Keep Wesley and Batum.

houston is taking too much salary back. NO way they take 2 contracts. Mostly because Wes has a huge contract- ADD that to Hicksons 6-8 million deal then WE JUST BURNED OUR bridge with Houston

I was talking about Wes and Hickson for Asik and Lin. I doubt Houston wants anything to do with Freeland. I think they use Asik in a sign and trade for Josh Smith or trade him for future first round picks and maybe a young guy on a rookie contract. UNLESS Mory LOVES US and gives him to us free like TRobinson, or takes Hickson.

It seems as though 1 of 2 things will happen w/ Hou. IF they sign D-Bag12:  1. They want Wes + Sasha (totaling $7,738,033) & a $636,613 trade exception for Asik ($8,374,646).  Or 2. S & T of JJ ($6million/yr. max is what I believe Hou. would agree to in light of David West's contract to b signed), Sasha (Totaling $7,232,713), & a $1,141,933 trade exception for Asik.  If I were Hou., I would go w/ option 1 :(

That sounds like the most feasible plan to me. Zaza is an animal. Plus, take Splitter out of the equation. The Spurs are finalizing a four-year deal with the restricted free agent worth over $36 million.

    Heres more of the conversation:

Daryl: Dwight is excited to play with Omer and Jeremy. He’s seen the rumors. Dwight likes that the ROX are team China and likes that Jeremy attacks as a guard. He likes Omer. Their names have been out there in rumors. Rumor that Omer would be available is not true. Originally they were trying to create room people called IN about Jeremy and Omer. Not looking to move either.
Host: So if you could sign Dwight and keep the lineup in tact you’d want to do that? Keep Omer in starting lineup with Dwight?
Daryl: No. They wouldn’t play together, maybe sometimes in experiments. We feel with both playing (Omer as backup) they have top 10 defense on floor at all times.
Host: Omer would be a HUGE luxury though?
Daryl: Yeah, people say that but we don’t look at it that way. What Omer would bring in his minutes is bigger than what another player would bring that we would trade him for. An upgrade at the 4 wouldn’t bring as much to the team as Omer in 15-20 minutes.

The Portland Trail Blazers have inquired about the services of free agent center Samuel Dalembert, CSNNW.com has learned. The 6-11 center is said to be “intrigued” with the possibilities of joining the Trail Blazers. Portland reached out to Dalembert early on in the free agency process, but so did multiple other teams, CSNNW.com was told. CSNNW.com

    Its Asik or Bust

Adding Asik would have given us a chance to grab home court in the playoffs I honestly think. Now adding Fropez, Dalembert, or ZaZa will have us in a 6-10 seed. Sadly

I wouldn't mind seeing Leonard and Withey(mostly Withey) get a lot of run though.

hahah I know I am but Asik compared to Spiltter, Kamen, Lopez, is a HOF

Asik is a beast yo! The dude is young, a monster rebounder and defender. I think he is the only center thats available, that gets Lamarcus to re-sign in two years. He is a perfect fit for us right now!

We could have made the playoffs last season if we had a bench. Now we do have a bench, add a great defensive center than we can make some noise.

@ Siccolo, I agree w/ commontongue.  Asik is a good player (he's obviously better v. Zaza ;) & @ a good age but I really don't c him giving us much more benefit v. Zaza.  Zaza is the best bang for the buck.  Asik & Zaza EASILY get us 8th in the playoffs; it's quite possible that our chances of going higher than this wouldn't differ w/ either player (no 1 knows 4 sure of course but I've a strong feeling IF there ARE any advantages of Asik v. Zaza, the advantages gained w/ Asik AREN'T worth the cost).

Sideshow Rob(in) I think can get us to 8th if every1 else plays strong; I have faith THIS will happens; this is why I'm ok w/ bringing in Bro-pez ;)

Asik is MUCH more benefical to us than ZaZa!! Omer Asik  hasn't missed a game in his career, ZaZa is coming off an Achilles injury I think.

Asik is younger, better rebounder, better defender, and has a better offensive game!

ZaZa is some old injured scrub, Asik is in his prime right now. The drop off from Asik to ZaZa is huge.

Oh yeah, I 4got about Dumb-lump-bear, it's easy 2 do bc he sucks ;)  On paper, Dalembert looks like everything we want; I admit that's true BUT reality is that no 1 likes him for a reason (i.e. teammates etc.).  Dalembert is a selfish player who pads/ensures his stats(winning doesn't really matter to him; I watch ALL Blazer games possible BUT I watch a few other teams quite a bit too, Bucks r on that short list); he takes rebs away from teammates ALL the time AND he's ONLY interested in $ :(  Also, he's a 32 year old center; I'm pretty sure he's nowhere near Robert Parish (in a lot of ways); so Dalembert's "useful life" is I'd say 2 years @ BEST :(  Dalembert will want more $ than he's worth; this is my offer to him:  $2mill/yr. MAX for 2 years (even this would make me cringe to give him; I'd ONLY do this IF NO 1 was left).  Sam's reply to that:  "ARE u sh****g me?  Pay me!"   Our reply: "No!  We KNEW u wouldn't want/take that deal.  We never wanted u & we want GOOD charter players/ppl here that play hard & 4 each other.  Get lost Dumb-lump-bear!"

@ commontongue, because he needs to learn how to control his temper so he can stay on the court PLUS it would take a "ridiculously obscene offer" to get him & the payoff would b somewhere around a wash to not worth it.  And there is the possibility that Bucks wouldn't give him up ;)

Houston is not trading Asik for Hickson and Matthews let alone adding Lin to the deal. With Harden dominating the SG position the team has little need for another SG. Additionally, trading Asik would be more for cap space and adding Matthews and Hickson's salaries does not make sense.

I agree I don't feel like Zaza would be good at all. Dalambert would be waaaaay better, all we need is a big body to clog the paint, won't make mistakes, and can score around 10 points a game because we are losing Hickson's contributions. Asik would be ideal, but I don't know how we get that done. I would've liked to go after a BIG time center but that's not in the cards.

I could see us being a part of a three team trade with the Rockets and the Hawks, since Josh Smith and Dwight Howard want to play together. Here's and idea.

JJ Hickson to Atlanta (Sign and trade)

Josh Smith to Houston (Sign and trade)

    Omer Asik to Portland

There would be a couple other players to make it a balanced trade financially.

    Thoughts??

Also, why is everyone so down on Nicolas Batum?? If he wouldn't have injured his wrist, he was exceeding the expectations of his big contract.

Horford works well on the East coast, but here on the west, we need size at the pivot. Grimy centers work well on the eats because they they tend to battle for respect. On the west we battle for boards and blocks. Joakim is the enigma.
