According to the source, both Kaman and the #Blazers think the unrestricted free agent would be a “great fit” with team next season.

Such a solid pickup in Thomas Robinson. Get the #5 overall pick of last years draft for a couple of european prospects and future second rounders. Neil Olshey knows what he's doing. Acquiring assets without having to give up any... I'd still love to see them sign and trade JJ Hickson for a center, maybe Gortat or Asik. I'd be happy with Kaman as a last ditch effort if all else fails.

Thomas Robinson is coming into Portland ready to prove something big. This was a huge steal for Portland. The kind of desire and attitude he will bring to the team is much needed, especially coming off the bench.

Uh oh haha, the options for center just got a lot slimmer, but I read on one of the articles on Bleacher Report the idea of center by committee this season, and that could be what we're looking at. That's not bad considering our bench has been upgraded.

T rob is a great get. Funny thing is i remember people wishing we were able to draft him haha. A true POWER forward coming in be hind LA will be great. As for Kaman i would rather have Gortat or Asik or a number of other but he is an upgrade and a big body at least.

It'd be hilarious if after all these dumps by the Rockets, Dwight Howard choses to go somewhere else. I'm ALL for letting our competition shoot themselves in the foot. And here's to the Lakers fading into mediocrity again!! Cheers, Olshey!

Right now our main and only goal, is to get a Starting Center...

9M in cap may be enough, if you´re thinking in Kaman, Dalembert or Splitter...

I like the trade a lot. Blazers stole him just like they stole Maynor. Rumor has it we are going to try to sign Zaza Puchulia. He'd be a perfect fit for the team. We need Defense. http://www.csnnw.com/blog/blazers-talk/source-blazers-reach-out-free-agent-center-pachulia

Watching Samuel Dalembert play for this team could make my eyes bleed. And how is Pachulia going to be any different than Withey who we just drafted? Splitter seems like a decent fill in, as would Kaman I guess. Either way a move needs to be made, I can't imagine Myers took enough steps forward to warrant significant minutes.

    @ Blazerfan7s, I agree!  Hahaha!  I'm ssssssssssssssooooooooooo happy we STOLE T-Rob!!!  T-Rob! T-Rob!  Neil... u da man! :)

Zaza was 1 of my cheaper option guys that I really like too! :)  I'd love to have Kaman IF he wouldn't get hurt so much but bc he seems so injury prone & is only getting older... I say we pass on Kaman & focus energies/$ on Zaza.  Zaza made $5.2 million last yr, bc he's 28, he'll want the longest contract he can get so let's give him a 4 yr. deal @ $4.5 million/yr.; $5million/yr. he should join us no question BUT I've got a feeling that it'll only take $4.5million/yr. ;)  I'd say he's actually worth a bit more than $5million/yr. BUT we've got to work the leanest deals to make sure we can give Tony Allen enough.

@ Avgjoe 28, I was DEFINITELY 1 of those that was a strong proponent of keeping the #6 spot AND moving up in the draft to snag T-Rob.  @ that time, I though it was going to take getting to #2 to get him.  Wow, look @ us now, 1yr. later & we've the #6 ROY (aka THE  Great Dame!) AND we've now got the #5 too from the same draft in T-Rob for peanuts!  Hahaha!  AWESOME!  Who'd uh thunk it?  AND... think IF T-Rob had been a draft pick THIS yr., he'd have gone #1 NO QUESTION! :)  We won the lottery w/ Cj & then we kinda won it again w/ T-Rob coming to us! :)

@ Neil, u pick up Zaza, u get Tony Allen, AND u r able too KEEP Wes... your work is done AND you've just become a god!!! :)  You've created a beast that will beat up the opposition; the Blazers r AGAIN a team to b feared!  No team will want to draw us in the playoffs!  W/ the mentioned final moves, this team is EASILY back in the playoffs AND has a LEGITIMATE chance @ the western conference finals & QUITE possibly... the finals!  The yr. after this next coming season, w/ THIS group... we've a shot @ the finals & MAYBE the championship! :)

@ jmarkus15, agreed w/ Samuel making my eyes bleed too! :(  Dumb-lump-bear is crap, he's a cancer in the locker room/court, selfish player, AND he's 32 (this ALONE should make us NOT consider him)!

I believe in doing the center by committee thing until Meyers is ready to b our main guy in the middle; it'll help him make the transition perfectly! :)

@ Simpson   --  loooove the optimism, and think getting more defense is great but wouldn't you agree that we need some more offense is we realistically have a shot a doing anything in the playoffs?? Look at how many scorers the other western playoff teams have. We have LA and Lillard and a few other guys who get us points every so often but nothing too reliable. I just think we're a bit too inexperienced and don't have the scoring threats we need....yet. Your move Trader Neil.

@ jmarkus15 thx :)  Nah, I think we good w/ offense; 2nd yr. guys & such will step it up this yr. not only w/ defense BUT also w/ offense.  Our guys that have been in OUR Blazer's system for 1yr., will b MUCH more comfy will how things r done & as a result, we'll get better all-around production from them (I hope Joel isn't traded bc I c him making some good improvements this yr. along w/ Will ;)

9 million with 2.6 million for room exception, so it make it 11.6 million, sign kaman to 2 year and 5 million per year. sign mills to 2 year and 1 million per year. with 5.6 million left. we should get chase budinger and sign him to 3 years and 4.5 millon per year to scare away the t-wolves. sign o'neal to 2 year and 1.1 million per year. future is bright

If Claver can get back to the freak he was when he played for Spain we'll be cool. Barton will have needed to put on more weight in my opinion to become more of a difference maker. I agree with Simpson. If we get Tony Allen and are able to keep Wes,WOW ! Sixth man for sure is Wesley Matthews. Two defensive minded sg's. Crabbe is going to surprise alot of people with his shooting. Id love to have a CJ Watson or a Luke Ridenour to be third string pg. Lukes got Oregon ties so it should be a real easy transition for him.

@ commontongue, man... IF we could get either Watson or Ridenour... it just wouldn't b fair to the rest of the league!  Hahaha!  Sssssoooo... I hope we get 1 of these guys too!  IF Neil could get that going... he's already knocking things outta the park; this would b like going outside o' the stadium, finding the ball, picking it up, & smashing the crap out of it AGAIN!  ;p

Oh yeah, I 4got, we need Neil to cont. to work his magic & pick up Jermaine O'Neal too on top of all that ^.  Signing Jermaine IS actually 1 of the most important moves for OUR club.

I like the idea of Zaza beasting the middle. If Zaza is a real option, we'll still have enough to get Tony Allen. And Neil and Tony are tight. Tony even said that he'd love to play here because all there is to do is concentrate on basketball. Can you imagine him and Wesley in practice ? There going to need some band-aids.

What are we trading for Asik?  Sign and trade JJ, sign and trade Maynor, Pavlovic expiring contract, and ?  Houston probably would not do it.  But it  would save some cap space while acquiring players to work with D12.  Asik is still my choice with Pachulia second.  If getting asik keeps us from getting Allen then I would go with Pachulia and then go for Allen.

Don't go for Kaman. He had one good game against us at home last year and now we're in talks with his agents? No, No, No. Let him take his gun racking butt somewhere else for 6-8 mil a year. He's so not worth it. Let's look at low cost short term help at the 5 next year. Either Zaza (who is pretty much the same as getting Steven Adams in the draft); or go with Jermaine O'Neal as a back-up to Meyers. Meyers has to be the guy we go with next year for the most part, there just isn't anyone out there in our price range who helps us more than he will. Let his take his lumps, get him some veteran help, and someone to teach him how to play defense.

i want asik but i want meyers to be our center for the future, he is young and only like 20 year old, if he start this season and does well, he will be our center for at least 12 year. if we get other  veteran center that is at least 25 year old, they only have 6 year left to play at the top of their game. but if we want aldridge to stay with us we will have to get asik or zaza. i prefer asik or leonard to start for us this year. i kinda want tony allen, so that leave asik out unless we want to go over cap. should be a interesting offseason for the blazers

asik is a thousand times better than leonard right now. it usually takes 5 or 6 years for a big man to develop. asik is perfect for the next couple years to let meyers to develop; being a beast doesn't hurt either.
