After checking the price at hoopshype (thanks for the link Siccolo) here are some of the free agents that won't break the bank. Forget Tyreke Evans, he makes more than Wes does.

    Barbosa...854k

    Belinelli...2 mil

    Tony Allen..3.3 mil

    Ray Allen...3.2 mil

    JR Smith....2.9 mil

    Gary Neil...1.1 mil

    Martell Webster...1.7 mil

Elliot Willams and Sasha Pavlovic both at 1.4 mil

    Ronnie Brewer 854k

There are others available in this salary range but I thought these were the better cheap fixes at the 2 guard. Gary Neil and Tony Allen will make less than I had imagined. I like them both. What do you guys think..( I had to type this list twice as the first time I wasn't signed in again...aaaarrrrrggghhh)

i been saying this, sign both jack and allen. sign both to 4 years and 6 million per year each. allen like portland, and he said that he might come over if the price is right. jack can play some PG roles. he can play ways more then 20 mins. every night. a starting back court of damian lillard and tony allen would be one of the most dangerous in the nba since lillard will improve his defense with payton this summer.  2nd unit of jack and wesley would be the best in the nba since they both can give you 15 points each off the bench

so sign jack and allen rip city

Jack will definitely be expensive. Sign Tony Allen, Ronnie Brewer. Now we got two excellent perimeter defenders. Ray Allen if you want offence. And obviously JR will be very expensive now. Barbosa is injury prone, Belinelli is not great at anything.

I am a fan of Raymond Felton. Haha, seriously though I'm a fan of Batum's Lobs and JJ's Slams.

Jack makes 5.4 mil this season. That's why he's not on the list but he's a great asset. He recently said his first priority is to resign with the Warriors. Barbosa is like Elliot Williams, coming back from injury but when healthy is a fast break machine, runs like a deer. He's also super affordable. I like Tony Allen and since watching the Spurs in the playoffs really like Gary Neil. Ray Allen is one of the best shooters in the modern era and actually a smart defender. He's old but doesn't show it on the court.

The idea for the thread is to get deep without sacrificing the salary in order to get an expensive center and shore up the bench.

That's 12 million for two guards...there goes the salary cap and still no center.

    T. Allen will make 5.5 plus next year. R. Allen won't sign here he passed up more money to sign with heat so not going to happen. Smith will also make at least 5.5 million next year. Elliot will be cheap but is a major ?, Webster might be an option since he can defend a little and shoots the three pretty well but I like he was pretty happy in Washington.

That leaves Belineli and Brewer for cheap, Brewer was born in Portland so that might help convince him but I am not sure he is much of an improvement over Pavlovic.

The figures I got from hoopsworld were their cap holds, they might get bigger offers but these are the figures listed. Golden State has Bogut, he's a real center. I'm not a huge Bogut fan but he is a legit post player when healthy.

yeah he is their only center that is capable to hold against most center in league. leonard will be that for us except that he will be flying every game for a dunk and a monster block

Tony Allen ? Absolutely. That dudes defense is and will become contagious. Blazers just had to give up a Mil and change to right a wrong about Martel so i wonder if thats a taste they'd like to relive in their mouth. JR Smith is not what our locker room needs. Ronnie Brewer is a great wing defender. Pefect Batum back-up. Barbosa is no longer the Brazilian Blur. I still think we should keep E. Will. Gary Neal and Ray Allen will stay with their teams. Bellinelli is not afraid of the big shot and will knock them down. He's ballin for Chi-Town right now. Sasha while a great guy, must go.

We need some players with some upside. Allen, Brewer, Belenili, even Jack are all at their ceiling. If we go with a cheap SG I would go with Gerald Henderson who is 25. Ronnie Brewer would be nice to

Wes, Brewer, Batum, Henderson, Barton, Claver are some nice young wings.

Draft Dieng and O Neil and then see what happens next season.

Thank you Siccolo. Gerland Henderson is like the poor man's Jose Calderon, except he can't shoot the three as well and doesn't pass well either. Really, they just both have deadly mid range jumpshots. And did you see his poster dunk this year? MY opinion, that was the best of the year. Not DJ dunking on some PG, Not LBJ on some 30 year old guy who has never gotten above the rim. May as well have given in the Meyers dunking on Dre.

River last years salary is hardly indicative of what a player will make the next year. Just look at Batum and his 8 million salary jump.

check hoopshype cmeese, these are not last years figures, they list both last years and the cap holds which are the figures I posted. Some do not have cap hold figures so you can only list what's available. Most have their cap holds in the second column. Siccolo steered me to the site. All of the cap hold figures are slightly increased over this years salaries.

Cap holds are just a temporary number given to free agents to prevent teams from loading up one free agents then resigning their own guys. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who believes that Maynor will make 5.8 million next season, which is his cap hold.

There is a couple really solid ones early in the draft and some depth but not sure any real superstars outside of Muhammad maybe.
