Bull crap we can trade Batum if we want a top tier center is more valuable that the 10th best small forward in the league.

What!? I would trade Batum for a potential star center any day of the week!!!!

Wings and back-up centers are way easier to find than starting centers! You know better than that

As I stated earlier in the thread, Cousins makes 3.88 mil a year in Sac...there's absolutely no need to overpay for him or trade a starter for him and if anybody was traded for him it would be a pick and Barton or Freeland..not Leonard or Batum. Freeland makes .88 mil less than Cousins. Sac wants the 10th pick more than anything for him.

If wings are so easy to find, why would a team trade for Batum? They would just sign one themselves instead of 'The 10th best SF in the league'.

And why would someone trade a top tier centre for an okay SF anyway?

You guys are getting back to trading one of our core four.. Why can't we go back to something like my post where we involve a third team and trade Hickson!? He is on his way out most likely anyways. The salaries aren't that far apart and I feel like there is something around that idea that can make this trade work. IMO our starters at PG, SG, SF and PF can't leave. They are great pieces to a winning team. We just desperately need a better supporting cast. We had the best starting 5 in the NBA. So don't go thinking we need to blow those guys up. I feel like the only thing this team needs is a SG capable of starting (so Matthews can flourish in the second unit), and a quality C that can either play great D, great offense, rebound well, or a good mix of all three. Also retain Maynor, and force guys like Claver and Barton to become more comfortable with their offense in our system.

Lets put it this way Sacramento will not trade Cousins for Batum because they already have like 10 wings.  Cousins value is up in the air with the new ownership taking over, do they see him as a head case or a franchise center. That will determine if he is available or not.

We will not get any significant trade value out of JJ Hickson. The collective bargaining has hurt sign and trades because the teams close to the tax barrier who might have considered it previously will not be interested and the teams with cap room have no reason to give up assets to give a player like Hickson a 5th year.

If you do not want to trade the core four fine but do not expect to get roses back when you only have turds to offer.  Right now our team has 4 starters 1 second stringer and 3 third string players. Trade Leonard and the 10th pick for a starter and you will have 5 starters and zero bench and we are back to the same old crap as last season.

I got a really good trade. If Houston go after Dwight Howard, Sign and Trade JJ Hickson, our 10th, and maybe a second rounder, or a bench player for Asik and a rotation player. Francisco Garcia is pretty good. Hits threes at above 40% and plays good D as well. This way, Houston starting 5, Lin, Harden, Parsons, JJ, D12. Portland starting 5, Lillard, Wes, Nic, LMA, Asik. If we get Tony Allen, we could start him and use Wes like Ginobli.

The Rockets have no reason to trade Asik for JJ. Asik is a better defender can play PF or C. They might like the 10th pick but this is a very young team still so I am not sure that pick has the same value for them as it would say the Lakers or Celtics who need to get younger.

Yeah, but like I said if they get Dwight Howard, they don't need Asik. And they can let him rot on the bench, or capitalize on the fact that 90% of the nba teams are frothing at the mouth for him.

Well Batum would be better than Salmons, Outlaw, and James Johnson

Batum, the 10th, Leonard for Demarcus Cousins, John Salmons

We would have 13 million in cap space since we no longer have a first round pick...? lol

Sign Brendan Wright, Cole Aldirch, Papanikoulau. We can also find a way to get a low draft pick

    Lillard/Maynor

    Wes/Barton

    Salmons/Claver/Papanikolau

    Lamarcus/Wright

    Demarcus/ Aldrich

And getting Kostas to come over isn't going to be easy. And why would the Rockets keep two centres with essential;y the same skill set on the floor at the same time, forget on the bench? Bot liabilities late in games because of free throw, both good interior defenders, both can only score around the rim. I don't think the kings would trade their best player for a wing. They already have soo many.

You realize how much DHoward is going to get? It's a ton of money for any team to absorb. If Houston gets him, Asik will be gone. Asik is not cheap either

i think we should trade batum, Lenoard, and the 10th pick for cousins and salmons. we get our center of the future and hes young and only gettin better . add some vets around him would be good for him. we'd have around 13 million to use and still have two 2 rounders to fill out the roster.

resign Manyor, E Will(i think we should give him one more shot. Plus he's cheap)

sign Tony Allen, Dejuan Blair, O'Neal, and one more vet and fill out the roster with the two 2rounders.

    1. Lillard/Maynor

    2. Allen/Matthews/Barton/Williams

    3. Salmons/Clavor/FA

    4. LA/Blair/Freeland

    5. Cousins/O'Neal/2 rounder

our second unit Maynor, Matthews, Clavor, Fa , O'Neal , Blair .

i think this is a really good team, vets young players mixed in together.

Why would the Kings give up such a good player for a wing which they have so many of, Meyers Leonard who is nowhere near Cousins' level and a pick in a weak draft? Also Salmons is crap.

Houston to sign Howard has to make a sign and trade or the cap has to increase. Right now they have 19 million it will take 21 to get Howard. It is likely that the Lakers would receive Asik as payment for adding the 5th year and trading Howard. Trade Asik and the Rockets are back under the cap again.

I do not see Howard leaving LA but even less so do I see Asik being available to us if he does.

Let's pray they do the stupid thing in pre-emptively trading him to make space for D12. I think they have a good chance of getting Howard with Lin and Harden and Parsons. Add Hickson to that lineup, and you got a solid team.

Cmeese, IF THEY GET DWIGHT. Then they don't need Asik, and can use him to get JJ, a solid PF, excellent rebounder, good inside scorer, and has a little outside game, likes to run, fits in well with the Houston offence.

Right now, their starting PF is Thomas Robinson. (Sorry for Caps).

Thomas Robinson is cheaper and plays exactly like JJ. With Howard the last thing you need is another body clogging up the paint. You need someone with a mid range jumper or who can hit from the perimeter with Howard that sure as hell is not JJ.

Howard is a better centre than Asik. A superstar. That's why Houston want him. He is a better finisher in the paint than Asik and better shotblocker and rebounder too. I think you are right about Robinson, He and JJ have a similar game, but I think JJ is better, but Robinson is younger.

This thread is a discussion of Cousins as a potential center here, there are other JJ threads to discuss his trade value. How to get Cousins is another thing. I think he could be a dynamic piece to finish out the starting lineup and there are a lot of scenarios to acquire him. He had fallen out of favor with the Kings organization several times since he's been there. I think with all of the other center options available, he's one of the most talented. Yeah, he's going to get ejected from a couple of games and the backup like Leonard would have to finish the game but if he's able to learn self control, man is he a beast of a center.
