My gripe at the sports media is that instead of giving credit to teams beating the Lakers, they seem to make excuses for the Lakers losing! Guess that comes with crowning them the western champs before they had played a game! Every sports site has pictures of Howard or Nash and articles about how they lost but few have pictures of Batum or Elton Brand and how they won!!

It's called the big city bias. Get used to it. Go pick up the Oregonian or look on Oregon live if you want a mention about how our team did other than the general stat lines.
It sucks, but tis how it goes.
    Go blazers!!!

I'm aware of all that Austin, doesn't make it right however. I've followed hoops since the 1950s and I see no difference between Portland and a team like the Packers in Green Bay. In the NFL the Packers will get headlines after a win, in the NBA it's all pictures of Lakers. The internet is not owned by any city, you'd expect it from Newspapers but not on sports sites that span the globe.

I'd rather be underrated than overrated, any day of the week. Lakers are going to have a lot tougher season than we are I think, not because I think they're going to be worse than us by the record, but because they set a high bar for themselves with the celebrity contracts. For both Miami and Los Angeles, if they don't win it ALL, then they will be criticized as falling short. Blazers, on the other hand, are going up up up UP from here, and that means following them will be what basketball is REALLY allll about:

    Playing smart, entertaining, team basketball.
I am a fan of BLAZER BASKETBALL. Not drafts, not business, not trades, not David Stern. Just BLAZER BASKETBALL.

ESPN was in shock. The one dude they had on Sportscenter right after the game, finished the Blazer/Laker highlights by saying, "116-106, and the Lakers get the prize."

Dont think they trade him for JJ tho, they can just sign Hickson.

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...

I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
