Just wondering what kind of playing style the fans would like to see coming into the season. I'm expecting plenty of side pick and rolls and ball movement from Stotts from what I've seen of Dallas. Not sure what to expect in terms of defense. I think Leonard needs to get stronger or we'll get man handled in the middle by teams like the Lakers or the Sixers. Also a side note I think Lamarcus will be even better with Lillard running the point and taking shots off the double team.

When you're young and smaller as a team you need to run bigger teams ragged. I see us playing a lot of fast break and pick and roll or pick and pop. With the scoring from multiple players we're going to be hard to double team. I hope we give the bench plenty of burn as well

Smothering defense, constant ball penetration and lots of movement on offense.

A dominant defense always looks even better when you can get the other teams starters in foul trouble.

Agreed cmeese I want our team to get to the foul line more I had it with living and dying by jumpers I don't know how many times I've seen us have a team in the penalty and we were taking jumper after jumper and didn't capitalize I guess in time we'll see but, I do also see us playing the style riverman mentioned.

Great post. I want to see us flat out run. Get the rebound and sprint. Our youth will be both our asset and liability at times. And i agree, if Lill and Batum knock down their shots, LA is going to be able to go to work on the inside.

@ commontongue, & I agree w/ u ;)  DON'T forget about Barton; he Will b MUCH more important to the success of our team than just about every1 thinks (huge advantage when opponents have this mentality; they'll sleep on Barton & he'll make them pay! :)

@ freddead, like most of us Blazermaniacs have heard/know, it's Leonard's leg that r the focus for getting stronger (he WILL get there bc it's exactly like u said, "...he has the work ethic to be as strong as he needs to be and the body to doit as well...") but w/ his upper body & running... dude IS ready!  :)

Unfortunately, I do not see Aldridge becoming assertive in the paint this season.  LA has earned many a knickname for his soft, perimeter dominated offense.  The one season he became what we all know he could, scoring the ball both from the perimeter and with some gritty interior banging, was the season his ailing mother provided him that extra motivation.  That year, the '10/'11 season, I still feel was the year LA most deserved an all-star nod but became one of the biggest snubs in league history.  This was also Dre's last season as a Blazer, and the year Aldridge led the entire league in alley-oops.

Some things are far bigger than basketball, certainly LA's mother's health tops that extensive list.  That said, what motivation does #12 have this season, surrounded by kids and facing lotto again, to become something he really never has been AND coming off hip surgery.  If LA is a thinking man, he'll save that body for the team he next plays for and extend his career, balling meaningful minutes elsewhere before his window closes.  Remember, LA is the last remaining piece to an otherwise forgotten dream.  Roy, Oden, KP, Nate...all gone.  This franchise is moving on...and so will LA.

I dont think we're going to have to worry about L.A. becoming a snarling mongrel in the paint. I think L.A. is going to become more efficient this year. More of a Dirk Duncan merger, than an Amare Bosh. I dont consider anyone who slaps KG in the back of his head soft either. L. Train is  smoother than that. He rolls into your station, and rolls out. He may not be that bruiser inside that most would like theirPOWER forwards to be, but i dont remember Tim Duncan punching anyone in their mouth either. And he's got jewelry. In Stotts' system we may see alot more L.A. than we can stand. We might have more " L's " on our starting five than you can stand. Lillard, Lamarcus,Leonard, Elllllllliot, Nichollllllllllas.

I need to see constant energy and defense anything else we do is much lower on my list. Play hard and defend and good things will happen.

i think it's pretty interesting what stotts is doing from what im hearing about training camp there's alot of running, conditioning, pick and roll defense/offense and movement without the ball. seems like the perfect answer for a stagnant offense.

Greg wants a fresh start. Portland wants a fresh start. And thank you, Siccolo, for comparing this to B Roy. Any draft prospect is going to be pretty impressed with what GO can do on the court... even a 75% GO. A kid that has no idea what NBA game...

To go another season with so many rookies is not a good idea. We need a couple of vets and atleast one young bench scorer. If we want a Center, go after Hawes from Philly and Dorrell wright can be signed as a free agent. We can trade our 2nd round...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.

Sug81 I love Iggy but this team has numerous gaping holes throughout the depth chart so signing Iggy is not the best way to spend our limited funds

That roster looks pretty good, but if we would have enough cash Corey or Ronnie brewer would be nice
