    Good, glad to hear it. Now we can move past it, and look towards the new season. Just hope Batum will be happy here.

    Glad that fiasco over now we need a coach and president, earn that money Nic I know you will.

    Glad Nic will be back. Glad he was talking to Neil throughout the process so that no bad blood developed there. I'm also glad that the contract is slightly smaller than reported.

    That's not a bad line-up. We could probably have more experience at the center, but, all things considered, I think that could be a winning ball club.

    You know what my crystal ball says?

    Portland could be one of the worst defensive teams in the league... potentially giving up the highest PPG average.  We'll score, but we're going to get scored upon ... a lot.

    Looking at that roster I am happy for one thing... Hickson is going to play a HUGE role because that roster is not going to be a very good rebounding team and it's not going to be pushing a lot of people around, in fact it's a very weak lineup.  Hickson adds some muscle and rebounding.

    Meyers has size, and he plays aggressive, plus he's working out, but you get a big butt on him and he'll be boxed out no problem.  LA doesn't bang, batum's a wuss, so portland needs help.  

    Matthews is feisty and Lillard's deceivingly strong, Meyers can block, but we've already seen houston work us over in summer league and while that's not saying much, it is a sign of things to come.

    Portland could use Przybilla

    Not sure why Portland gave up kurt thomas for gadzuric if they were just going to release him cuz we could use Thomas's experience and toughness.  

    there's going to be a learning curve for sure

    I'm glad batum's back, but I was getting excited about the Iguodala rumors.  He's tough, solid defender, can create and score when needed.  He represents USA and he'd be an all-star in portland.

    one thing, paul allen said on twitter to batum, Welcome back Nic! And good luck in the Olympics...

    Portland will struggle on defense next year but I would not go as far as being the worst. Price is a tough defender even if he won't play more than 10 mins a night, and Elliot prides himself on defending. Jefferies as well is solid defender. Add Pryzbilla to that group and we will get stops especially if Batum and not Babbitt is in the game at the 3. 

    Portland needs someone like Ibaka to defend the paint so that Matthews, and especially Batum can play up on their men instead of protecting against dribble penetration.

    If the thread said Babbitt beat some brothers you all would be expecting a hate crime. I do not see why this is a big deal. Police beat their wives daily and we do not have a thread about that and that is a real issue plaguing society.

    I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.
