    Other teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets, had been hoping to lodge their own bids for Williams once free agency begins, sources said. The Los Angeles Lakers, likewise have continued to express interest in a sign-and-trade package built around Pau Gasolfor Williams, sources say, despite the Nets' longstanding insistence that they have no interest in Gasol and would only consider such a move if they were getting back All-Star center Andrew Bynum, whom the Lakers have not made available.

    Sources say Williams, in any case, already has instructed his representatives to advise any team that calls starting at 12:01 a.m. July 1 that he intends to either re-sign with the Nets or return to his hometown with the Mavericks after a glittering high school career in the Dallas area.

    Well, that's not surprising but still stings. He was easily the biggest fish in the pond this free agency period. Let's hope he stays out East. We don't need the Mavs having a resurgence.

    i dont think that effects us at all. i dont think we had a real shot at getting deron on our team.

    Sweeeet. I never wanted him here, but it boggles the mind to think that somehow he'd work well with Dirk. I just don't see it.

    Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

    The bucks are getting Batum a lottery pick and potentially 2 additional first round picks I really have a hard time seeing them turn that package down.
