    Should LaMarcus Have Been All-NBA?
    Yes (8)
     73%
    No (3)
     27%

After being snubbed from the All-Star game in 2011, LaMarcus Aldridge was somewhat vindicated by earning a spot on the All-NBA Third Team (135 points). But the roles were reversed this year for the L-Train who made his first All-Star Team with averages of 21.7 points, on a career-high .512 shooting from the field, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season but wasn't awarded a spot on any of the three All-NBA teams.

Looking at the All-NBA teams this year, it's really hard to find a guy a say, "He shouldn't have made it over Aldridge."

And it wasn't as if Aldridge was the only big man who made the team last year but was left off of it this year. Pau Gasol, Al Horford, Zach Randolph, and Amare Stoudemire all failed to repeat as All-NBA members. The players who were newcomers to the list this year are Tyson Chandler, Andrew Bynum, Blake Griffin and Carmelo Anthony. While Aldridge is arguably just as talented as any of those four, his team didn't make the playoffs while the other's did and we all know winning cures all. Also, the hip surgery which forced LA to miss the Trail Blazers' final 11 games couldn't have helped his cause, either.

The centers came to play this year in the NBA, so I don't think you can move any of the 7-footers and isnert LA as the center. Chandler was the Defensive Player of the Year while Andrew Bynum tallied career highs in points (18.7) and rebounds (11.8) as he helped lead the Lakers to the #3 seed out West.

To me, it comes down to Anthony and Griffin. Blake puts up solid numbers on paper: 20.7 points, 10.9 rebounds and has the nightly highlight to boot. But when you look at his numbers from this year compared to last, they actually dropped and that was with CP3 spoon-feeding him alley-oops. His points per game declined by 1.8 and rebounds by 1.2. Melo, on the other hand, also missed time due to injury and played in the same amount of games as Aldridge (55). His 22.3 points per game was his lowest offensive outburst since 2005 and his shooting percentage of .430 was the lowest since his rookie year.

I don't think it's as big of a snub as not being named to the All-Star team in 2011, but it's still a slight snub, in my opinion when you consider he was the highest vote getter to not make the team and compare his season to that of others ahead of him. What do you say? Snub or no?

I would say he deserved a spot over Dirk. There scoring was about the same LA 21.7 Dirk 21.6 but LA had 8 rebounds per versus 6.8 for Dirk and LA shot a better %.

Sure LA deserves to be all NBA but someone had to be snubbed. Love is better than LA and proved it this year and Dirk only gets it because he's Dirk, Kinda comes with the territory after being such a dominate player for so many years.

Being bitter about the season creates a bias in my opinion but I don't think Aldridge deserved All-NBA honors. He was a much more effective player last season than he was this year. I was honestly dissapointed because I felt he did not progress anywhere this year. In fact his physical moves were harder to spot this year than they were in 2010-11. He was starting to go back to a jump shooter that we had previously seen. I understand some of that was cause he wasnt 100% healthy but Aldridge did NOT improve this season and was not as effective as he should have been. Therefore, why give him an award to boost his confidence when he should be working hard to get back on the right track next season.

If LA was more aggressive (go to the hole) and a better rebounder he would be first team over Durant or at least 2nd team outright.

Tyson Chandler ain't no 3rd teamer. Knicks bought that vote. That dude couldn't even score a basket in the playoffs. Just because he was the only Knick that didn't miss a bunch've games, doesn't mean he's one of the best in the league. Chandler may have been that guy last year with Dallas, but not this year with New York.

With that being said, YES, LaMarcus got snubbed.

They are selected by position. Chandler got it as Center because there isn't a better one after Howard and Bynum. LA had to make it at Forward and there are plenty of names for that position.

I'm surprised more people aren't questioning Blake's inclusion on the team. He plays very little defense, can't score outside the paint, is a liability on the floor late in games due to poor free-throw shooting, and his numbers decreased.

But Blake's team made it to the second round of the playoffs while the Trail Blazers vanished off into the distance. So, while I think Aldridge deserved a spot over Griffin, I don't think he was snubbed. Not making the ASG in 2011 was a snub. This was just an unfortunate occurrence.

Statistically despite his short comings Griffin had a better season than LA, his PER was higher, his rebounding was much higher, he shot a better FG% and he remained healthy.

Marc Gasol should've had that 3rd team Center spot.   LMA, you cannot deny performed a little better than not only Dirk, but also "The Other Chosen One" Blake Griffin.

No. Anyone who voted yes , voted with their heart. Had we had made it to the playoffs, absolutely. Individual achievement means caca. Roy got us to the playoffs, thats why he deserved every single award, kudo, and all team anything that he ever accomplisehed. I love L.A., but until he starts demanding the best of everyone around him,he deserves our love, our praise even, but now our sympathy.

The All NBA team is for people that are the best at their positions. I would argue that this year LA was the 6th best forward in the league. Although I think Josh Smith has a pretty big complaint as well.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
