Sources: Malone Interested In Being Blazers Next Head Coach - Chris Haynes | CSNNW
Golden State Warriors' assistant coach, Michael Malone, is viewed by most as the hottest head coaching candidate out on the market. CSNNW.com has learned that Malone would have a great deal of interest in the Portland Trail Blazers head coaching position, according to multiple sources.
"The Blazers have great ownership, it's a beautiful diverse city and probably has the best fans in the NBA," Malone agent, Steve Kauffman told CSNNW.com.
Malone, 39, was named the best assistant coach in the league in an NBA.com GM survey. He has interviewed for the Charlotte Bobcats head coaching vacancy and will be looked at by the Orlando Magic shortly.  Malone has 11 years of NBA coaching experience with previous stints in New York, Cleveland, and New Orleans.

Not sold on him at all.  The dude has never been a part of a good team system and that is what Portland needs more than anything else.

Mike Budenholzer would be a much better choice as he has been a part of a great system and has learned for over ten years from the best coach in the NBA Popovich.

I think he would be a good option if we want to fully rebuild, not a good option if we are keeping our core together.

I'm not sure I agree with that jam. He was named the NBA's best assistant coach by the GM's. He'd be fantastic for any situation, including a win-now approach.

Cory- Is Budenholzer even on the market? I've heard his name pop up as a candidate teams would like to interview but I haven't heard his name pop up that he's even thinking about leaving the Spurs.

You got to make him an offer for him to consider leaving. I know the guy is loyal but if you offer him a head coaching job and pair him with someone like Dennis Lindsey who he is already familiar with then I think he would have some great motivation to sign.

Plus as everyone knows a lot of times it is the ones not in the rumor mills that end up signing.

PS. I do not think that even if he was interested that he would say anything publicly while the team is still trying to win an NBA title.

I bet the state of Oregon is just jumpin up and down and can't hold in all this excitement!!!!!!

I don't care that he is considered this and that. When I think of winners, championships, leadership, it's not the Golden State Warriors who come to mind. We deserve better than this, with all the names out there this is who they talk about?     BARF!!!!

Why are they even talking about a coach anyway, GM should be top priority right now.

Go after Sloane first, if he says no,SVG. If he shoots us down,D'Antoni. No, ok Scott Skiles. And then Malone. I'll be flying to Montana myself to talk to the Zen Master.

You know what is good about the draft you can usually move up and down if your willing. We could have gotten Drummond and everyone here knows it. We also could have taken Harkless, or Henson at 11 or moved back a few spots. We also could have draf...
