    Wake up...:)

I will say I have concerns about building a team around a soft, jumpshooting (nearly 7') PF not known to be a rebounder or physical post defender.  Those not new to these boards know that I am one who is not afraid to think outside the box.  Having thoughts of shopping LA for exceptional complimentary pieces to put around Hickson, a player you could get comparable contributions from for considerably less, and a younger player without any health issues.  Unlike LA, Hickson collapses defenses, something this team has been starving for since GO was last helped off the floor.  My only hesitation is not being close enough to the situation to know where JJ's head is at and just exactly what has been his motivation.  As I've written in other threads, both Cleveland and Sac were reluctant to give Hickson a long-term contract.  The question is...why?

well said bdawg, i have been thinking about how good the potential would be if we had a starting line up of say dwight howard hickson matthews and trade LA for rondo, combine with any SF we end up with...

lamarcus is kind of up tehre with batum for me right now, if he was batman, he would have squashed the players rebellion this year. both have potential, but seems their hearts are else where. I want my players to be as passionate about winning as i am about watching them.

Hickson is an absolute must keep. He is clearly the best Blazer on the floor. Him and LA only played about 5 games together. Give them a real training camp and a year to flourish, and our frontline is pretty much set offensively. We need some shot blockers and rebounders, but I've enjoyed watching JJ rip it up for Portland.

With no JJ, no Batum and no viable center or PG the team would only have one option and that is to trade LA for pieces.

Now well I am not opposed to trading LA it needs to be for something.

I don''t trust big men with a history of injury. Ibaka also weighs more than Noel, but you''re right, early days yet, he could bulk up. I am sure, that he will lose some of his speed and athleticism when he does though. Wasn''t that one of his bes...

The list of possibles assumes Oladipo does not fall below the top nine.  I agree that if he did the list would change and most responses would indicate him as the choice.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
