Trail Blazers (28-34) vs. Suns (32-30)

    What To Watch For

Luke Babbitt got his first career start Monday night in Phoenix and with Nicolas Batum still battling left quad tendonitis, there is a good chance that Babbitt could make it two in a row Wednesday night. In the loss, Babbitt recorded a career-high by scoring 18 points on a career-high 7 made field goal, which included 4 3-pointers, which tied a career-high. Something tells me, Luke will be setting and re-setting careers highs frequently over the next four games. Also, keep an eye on his hits from downtown. Luke needs to connect on seven from beyond the arc to be eligible for the 3-point shooting crown. Currently, Luke's 3-Point percentage is 48.1% and the NBA's leader, Steve Novak is at 45.8%. So, not only does Babbitt have to hit seven from deep over the next four games but he needs to do so in no more then 16-18 attempts (Math on the fly!). That's more then doable for Luke. And what better way to send the fans home then to drill seven trifectas on Fan Appreciation Night!

Hasheem Thabeet has been a bit of a highlight factory lately in his increased role with the Trail Blazers. Whether it slamming home one-handed alley-oops or swatting shots into the fifth row, Thabeet is starting to show signs of why he was taken so high in the draft three years ago. Obviously, his offensive game isn't where he or anyone wants it to be, but for a 7'3" center, he moves well and shows good defensive instincts. Hopefully Thabeet gets a lot of playing time against the Jazz, because going up against a front line of their caliber will be a good measuring stick to see how far along Hasheem has come. Currently, he's recorded a block in three straight games. Let's make it four tomorrow night, big fella!

    Hasheem's Highlight Reel

Jonny Flynn got the starting nod over rookie, Nolan Smith Monday in Phoenix as the team determined it would be best to sit Raymond Felton in order to further evaluate Flynn and Smith. The outing didn't go as planned for Jonny. He constantly got burnt on the pick and roll and never was able to disrupt Steve Nash's rhythm. He did dish out 6 assists compared to just 2 turnovers, but 2-5 from the floor isn't going to keep the defense honest. Look for Flynn to attack Devin Harris in the Rose Garden Wednesday and see if he can get into the middle of that defense. If the bigs collapse on him, then J.J. and Joel should be right there ready to hammer it home or Wesley and Luke could be happen, ready to launch the three from the wing.

Coach Corbin can't get away with running 3 bigs for extended periods again. That just ain't right. If we see that Millsap, Favors, Jefferson lineup again, we need to push them to the limit. RUN!

See how Phoenix did it last night? Get a rebound, find a guard, and let's try and run around these lunkers, instead of trying to shoot over them.

Utah is in a fight to stay in the play-off race. We are evaluating players with 2 starters out and JC auditioning for the Suns. I think it will be an interesting game.

That's why the 3 Big lineup worked. It's nearly impossible to rebound on them. And if Joel doesn't go tonight, that will make that task even more challenging.

    Roster Changes via Chris Haynes-
Joel Przybilla is a game time decision (bronchitis) and Jamal Crawford is out tonight vs Utah Jazz. Crawford is sitting out tonight's game vs the Utah Jazz simply to get Nolan Smith and Jonny Flynn some run.
G Raymond Felton will start (right Achilles) tonight vs Utah Jazz.
F Nicolas Batum (left quad tendonitis) is a game time decision vs Utah Jazz.
He also says to expect Luke to start if Nic can't go and either Hasheem or Kurt will start in place of Przybilla if The Thrilla is unable to play.

I read on Twitter that Felton isn't playing tonight.  Any definite confirmation if he is, or isn't?

    Latest Roster Updates-
    Mike Barrett
Joel Przybilla will not play tonight. He's sick, and won't likely be in the building.
    Chris Haynes
G Raymond Felton will not play tonight (right Achilles) vs Utah Jazz. Will keep you posted on who'll start in his place. Likely Jonny Flynn.

Seriously WTF were our guards doing tonight on defense that was embarrassing. 67 points between Hayward, Harris, and Burks is disgusting. Giving up 58% shooting to guards that mediocre is not saying much for Nolan, Flynn or Wesley's defense.

Not to mention how do you only get JJ 11 shots. This whole game was a terrible was to appreciate the fans.

To avoid being completely negative our bigs did a great job stopping Jefferson and Millsap.

I thought Flynn looked better running the show but Nolan had the better offensive night. I think Coach Canales is probably going to continue to rotate starting point guards to be fair, so each one will get the same amount of time as the team's starting point.

JJ only had 11 shots? Really? It felt like he had a lot more then that. I did like what I saw defensively out of Thabeet and was pretty disappointed he didn't see the floor after his first shift in the second-half.

    Agree with Cmeese

Nicholsan will be a solid player. Hes the new leagues Brandon Bass lol...funny Magic drafted him... He would have been a good back up to LA but would have been dumb at 11

Lamb, Harkless, Henson would have been great...

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
