Although I believe Hank Williams Jr. has the right to say what he wants, I also believe ESPN has the right to fire him for words or actions they see as offensive to their viewers. What do you think?

    Exactly.

People are trying to make the argument that Hank Williams' words should be protected by freedom of speech, and therefore his job should not be at risk, but it's pretty hypocritical to say that his rights to say what he likes are protected, yet his boss' rights to say "you've gone too far and we've gotta let you go" are not. Really, I think it's pretty impressive and mature of ESPN. People have a right to say what they want, but too often they are not being held accountable for the impact their words have on others.

Incase anyone out there didn't actually hear what he said, Hank Williams Jr went on Fox and likened John Boehner golfing with President Obama to "Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu". I dislike mixing sports with politics as much as everyone else, but there has to be a stop to people making such ridiculous and exaggerated comparisons. Until an American politician is responsible for mass murder, there are no grounds for it, and it's EXTREMELY offensive to the memories of people who died at the hands of the actual Nazis, as well as the families who live on today.
Hank Williams isn't the worst offender by any stretch (in fact, you'd probably have a hard time finding a single Fox correspondent who HASN'T made that kind of analogy) but he needs to answer for his ignorant remarks, and I think alot of people feel he deserved to lose way more than simply the rights to singing a football theme song.

The issue at hand, however, is way bigger than the football-singing country star. Prejudice is prejudice, plain and simple, and while we all have rights to free expression and free speech, that is NOT an excuse to allow anyone to avoid taking responsibility for their actions.

"The less that we jump to extremes when we disagree, the more progress we've made towards true equality, and the more pride we can have in what makes you, you, and me, me."

People talk freedom of speech to seriously. Yes, we have the right to say ANYTHING we want, but that right doesn't protect you from the consequences of said words. For example, I couldn't run up and down the halls of my office screaming profanities without being punished for doing so. Although, I really liked Hank's MNF intro (SO MUCH BETTER  than the Sunday Night one), I'm glad ESPN yanked it off the air.

Nobody should ever be compared to Hitler. That little twerp killed people for no reason, and I was glad when Tom Cruise tried to blow him up.

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
