I noticed recently the age of the Blazers' core:
    LaMarcus Aldridge: 26
    Brandon Roy: 27
    Ray Felton: 27
    Greg Oden: 23
    Gerald Wallace: 29
    Nic Batum: 22
    Wesley Matthews: 24

All these players are either in their primes or just entering them.  We should be an elite NBA team that has a legit shot at the championship.  The only problem: Roy's past his prime because of his knees.  Even with this tragic setback, however, the Blazers are in fantastic position to contend with the league's top teams, due to our depth at every position.  I am very excited for this next season, and that's why I'll cry if this frikin' lockout isn't resolved before November 1st!

Couldn't respectfully disagree more.  I believe this team is, at best, in a rebuilding mode.  I remain loyal however, and will stand by them throughout.

As for the lockout?  Look out.  Both sides have anticipated this and have prepared and are therefore entrenched.  The season will not start on time, and there is a growing feeling that there may not BE a season at all.  I've also written that contracts like that of coach Nate McMillan's therefore become very interesting.  With the anticipation of a work stoppage this year (and into next), essentially Nate was given only one more season.  This begs the question...was that Nate's choice, or was it management's?

As telling a sign as any was the bold move by the three Nuggets to bolt to China WITHOUT NBA clauses in their contracts.  Wilson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, and JR Smith WILL NOT be returning in a Denver uniform this season.  Chandler, through his agent..."I want to play".

I dont think PDX is in a REBUILDING stage but i also don't think they are in their prime. i feel they will be a contender for a while and then they will have a trade (or a signing) that will elevate them to 1-ALOT of Finals trophies. this team does have depth of skill at may positions so they could win a championship before we all think.

Just to add i hope they win it every year i am just trying to be realistic

We don't have an All-Star with Roy being under he weather. We need an All-Star like say...Kevin Love. Look how much better the Timberwolves improved last year. They went from 15 wins the year before, all the way up to 17 wins this last year. Now, we get some more entertaining and brilliant All-Stars like Kevin Love on this team, and we'll be right in the thick of the Western Conference title.

I say trade for Kevin Love and play him at PF then move Lamarcus to C and we will have the best front court in the NBA. Centers will have to play LA away from the basket, opening the middle for Love, Wallace, Matthews and Felton. This is a mix for success, A rebounding Juggernaut, scoring presumably at will, and the defense will be very strong.

you guys really think twolves will give up love? we would have to trade LA AND/OR half the starting lineup. love is NOT the answer!

HAHAHA K.Love on this Blazer team is a baaaad idea. We're gettin quicker and gettin a running game, he'd be takin us the opposite direction... if we were gonna go after someone like him I think we'd be much better off tryin to find a REAL center instead of trying to revamp our whole offense (again) for one player who won't be that impressive on a team with quality players. Plus you're saying you'd want to have Lamarcus take over as C? After the breakout year he just had, really? Seems like a great way for the team to shoot itself in the foot.

i think tobyus was being sarcastic, or at least i hope he was. love's stat are impressive and minnesota is just stacking talent at this point. i think this year will be different for them though mainly because of adelman. this is the year for them to break out.

Not sure about Saric. We already have Claver and Papanikolaou (over in Greece who could come over) and they both can play the 3/4 position behind Batum.

well mccollum looks cool but lillard was a rarity when it comes to small school ballers being successful I don''t see 2 small school ballers 2 drafts in a row especially one comeing from a weak draft being anything spectacular
