Is it just me, or does it seem like the Blazers are just one big team of fairly good players? They are all skilled, dedicated players, but they have no idea what they are doing when the pressure is on. Brandon Roy, who had around 35 points or so in game 4, needs to step up and lead the team. The Lakers have Kobe, the Cav's have LeBron, etc. The Blazers have Brandon Roy, but the problem is, Roy doesn't lead. Brandon is good, smart, and incredibly strategic, but from what I've seen, he hasn't led the team in their time of need, such as in the last 48 seconds of game 4.

I think Roy is a leader, but he needs to really step up and become the Kobe Bryant or LeBron James of the Blazers. But at the same time I think he needs to keep that sense of teamwork and sportsmanship he has now. My fear is that if he becomes like Kobe or LeBron is that he will get that superstar mentality and he will try to make the whole game about Brandon. It's a very fine line, but I think he can define it.

yeah..well if Roy was going to act like a Kobe or Lebron attitude that they are "the best", then I think it would have started right when he came in the organization like with Lebron and Kobe.

true, which is why i hope that mentality doesn't appear later in his career. he's on a good path now he just needs to step up as a leader a little more.

Man, u r TRIPPIN' WITHOUT A MAP!!! Koby had Shaq to dump it off- Roy has WHO??? Its always "ALL EYEZ ON HIM" Once Oden starts bangin without foulin and is puttin up dub - dubs; LA plays with confidence in his 18 footer, and someone else can bring it up then mayb we can talk- Roy garners way too much attention and criticism when they lose. He plays gassed, NO REST!!!! Whenever the game is on the line, he says "Gimme that ball!!!'' Back off FOOL!!!

Roy is a leader. this is a stupid post. You can't blame the game on bad leadership. You can blame it on 6 turnovers in the 4th quarter. You can blame it on Nate not getting rudy the ball to take the 3 to tie the game. You can also blame nate for not having in the lineup at the end of the game that got us the 6 pt lead in the 3rd quarter. once it got to crunch time, we should have had Roy at point. Rudy at 2, Travis at 3, LA 4, and Oden/Pryzz at 5. Thats how we got our comeback, thats our biggest lineup. We got offensive boards and made them count by adding 11 Second chance points in the 3rd quarter. Portland wins Game 4 by 6 if that lineup would have came into the game with 3:00 minutes remaining. I didn't like "Go nate" posts yesterday, Tonights making me think twice though. This game was easily winnable. Now we're faced with winning 3 tough games in a row.

I think Roy is a good leader, he is not "great," YET. I agree that Lebron is a leader on his team, Kobe is just an Alpha Male. There is a difference. The difference is 20+ points, 10+ assists, and 10+ rebounds against 30+ points. Really, Kobe gets emotional, he barks at his team, they pee down their legs and do as he says and clean up around him. Lebron encourages his team, GETS them involved, and on top of that plays the best game he possibly can every time out. LeBron came in as THE BEST player on the team, they had NO ONE else so his position as the Alpha Male was pretty much handed to him. Roy has struggled with that because that isn't really his style. He is always friends with the players. I think that is where the distinction lies. He has a hard time being the kind that CAN stand up to the guys and tell them to get their head on right. He is more of a "mother hen," than an Alpha Male. In order to go from good to great, he needs to be that Alpha Male from time to time. Not all the time, like Kobe, but sometimes. He will grow into it. His career is still young. Since they are all so young, I think they all look at Nate as that Alpha Male but Nate isn't on the floor with them so they are always looking over their shoulders.
