It's not even Christmas and not only are the we, the fans, talking trade but the Magic have already gone off the deep end twice on the same day. With that said, post your trade with ESPN link so we can all visualize the deal and see what Hollinger's funky numbers say will help or hurt our team. Also, please keep it realistic. No trades for Kobe, LeBron, Dwight, CP3, etc. And please try not to destroy the other team, this isn't XBOX.

    ESPN TRADE MACHINE

    I'll start us out:
    Trail Blazers Trade-
    Luke Babbitt
    Joel Przybilla
    Andre Miller

    Trail Blazers Receive-
    Aaron Brooks
    Jared Jeffries
    Eddy Curry

    Rockets Trade-
    Aaron Brooks
    Jared Jeffries

    Rockets Receive-
    Anthony Randolph
    Andre Miller
    Luke Babbitt

    Knicks Trade-
    Anthony Randolph
    Eddy Curry

    Knicks Receive-
    Marcus Camby

    View Trade

Also, the Knicks would send a future 1st round pick to Portland.

The Knicks have been hot after Camby or Przybilla and I think they get a good deal here giving up on the potential of Randolph, the expiring of Curry, and a pick.

With Yao out for the year and maybe career, who knows what Houston's mindset is, but Brooks will be a RFA next summer and they may be thinking rebuild. Not only do they get Randolph who can play the 3/4 but Dre is an expiring deal who can still lead to wins. He's also more of a traditional pg than Brooks and they get Babbitt who could be lethal in Houston's offense.

I know Curry and Jeffries aren't easy on the eyes when you see this trade, but they are expiring contracts so no harm, no foul. Portland lands the BEST player in the deal and anytime you do that, its a win. As good as Miller is, he's just not young enough to be apart of the future, so goes for Camby. We need to rebuild on the fly and this does that for us. We can't seem to keep any centers healthy so why not just plug LA at the 5 and go small?

    Resulting Depth Chart:
    PG- Brooks, Mills, Johnson
    SG- Matthews, Fernandez, Roy*,Williams*
    SF- Batum, Jeffries
    PF- Aldridge, Cunningham
    C-  Przybilla, Marks, Curry*,Oden*

    * Denotes injured player

That's a talented team even without Roy and Oden and one of the most entertaining to watch. What do you think?

Chuck Hayes though is statistically one of the WORST STARTERS IN THE NBA. He is like Rodney Stuckey, you actually lose points when he has possesion of the ball.
    from an article......

Losing Yao for the season, the Rockets did not go out and acquire a big center to combat the long, muscular big men that the contenders all seem to have. While Hayes is a capable defender, his glaring lack of size was exposed as teams saw him for more than twenty minutes a night instead of the ten minute cameos that he managed in previous years.

A 6'6", Hayes is instantly written off by the casual fan because he gives up six inches to most centers. While he combats them with his impressive strength in the post, he does not have the skills to be a starting center in this league.

He doesn't block shots but rather takes charges, but as teams realized that they could pull up for floaters as the year went along, the need for a big athletic center became apparent. The difference with Jordan Hill over Chuck Hayes on the court was huge, and opponents drew fewer easy layups as a result.

While his gimpy knee certainly contributed to his unimpressive defensive season, it was more likely due to the extra exposure as a starting center.

Additionally, while he improved offensively, he was still fairly poor in that regard. With no post skills and a still less than can be expected layup talent, opponents could disregard him at times. While he drew a few easy layups as a result, he still was overall disappointing.

The reason he is the worst starter at center is not because he is a bad basketball player, in fact he is pretty good at what he does, defending good post players, but thrusting him into a role he is not suited for was a mistake by the Rockets management

    *BUMP*

Instead of starting a new trade idea thread each time one pops up, please keep them all inside here. It will keep the board clean and clutter free. It will also be easier to maneuver around the boards a little better.

    Thanks

Expiring contracts are only good for rebuilding teams. I don't know if this team is in that stage yet. Plus, trading Marcus Camby, in my opinion, is not a good idea.

after a LOT of messing around, this is the best I came up with.
It makes a little sense, but it would require some pick-swapping too.
You guys can try your hands a balancing it a little better, but the main points of the trade are that The Suns get a little bit younger and bigger while keeping a good PG, (realistically knowing they can't keep Nash forever) and the Knicks get Pryzbilla and Omri Casspi, who has been drawing a lot of interest around the league. And the Kings get better, without losing much cap room since they get Curry's expiring deal.

That being said, this trade is far from ideal or perfect, so as previously stated its open for guys to play with and make better.

The Grizz are shopping Thabett according to real gm.

Marks ,( wouldn't he be an expiring contract, same as Pryz, but less important to us ?, hopefully Marks was not signed past this season )  a draft pick, and $.

Please Mr Cho, make it happen.  The Knicks are not going to make a move until the Melo-drama is over.
Thabeet > Randolph, imo. We need another big for the playoffs.

Thabeet^, I don't know how the $ works, but have reached the point I don't care about spam. If this were a flashy guard, adding $ would not even be an issue.

Good deal for Portland, but I just don't think that's enough coming back for Phoenix. Nash is their franchise and regardless of their record, he helps them sell merchandise, tickets and advertising. I think they'd need to get something more substantial in return to sell their fans on.

Yeah that's true, but since Phoenix is out of the playoffs as of now and is kind of in a rebuilding mode, getting Nash to a winning team and taking on over $13 million in expiring contracts could be appealing, and getting Blatche as a big man may also be nice. I wish the trade machine had draft picks involved and not just matching salaries because we could actually make trades that would be much more realistic

i would never trade for no kinda defense nash... no way... he only has a few yrs left in the tank anywayz... everybody keeps hating on d. harris but yall better get used to him lol cause most likely thats who we getting... and he might be the answer... he will definitely stretch the court out  more than miller does and will help lessen the doubles teams on l.a in my opinion... whatever point we get must be able to hit a long range jumper when l.a kicks it back out to him... miller to my surprise has hit a few this year lol...

hmm ... i noticed in your scenario, the blazers are trading Joel but the knicks are getting Marcus (???)

also, Sean and Joel are on expiring conracts, but the blazers have a team option on Andre for next season which they may or may not excercise.
