    I wish I did gretta.
Nate and Roy are nowhere near the same page right now. Mr Allen prefers to collect toys over rings.
The ripple effect is letting the ship take on to much water to fast.
If they don't get it together, the ship will sink.
As frustrated as I am, I do still believe they will right the ship, when Mr Allen, Nate and Roy all quit worrying about what they want, and put the teams success  first !

Why, because I have been saying it for years?  lol.

My parting words to Blazer fans today, as I read the various articles and opinions.
If Roy is turning to Quick for advice on last nights game, were in bigger trouble than I thought. :)

    Bring on Dallas !

Yep, "Nate's stubborness" and all other Nate comments you make. Feels like for you it's their fault for getting injured. But to each his own. My question to you is, if we were to get rid of Nate who would you replace him with that is realistically available?

Nates offensive philosophy will only work with a big who can score inside and outside shooters who can drop jump shots or take it to the rim. we have none of these elements right now. What we have is a team that can run and play a more warriors, suns type game. We would have to sit roy though, which would be good for him this season. We should get babbitt back from the Dleague and play him.  But Nate won't do any of this he will be stubborn and keep banging his head against the same wall and get the same results.

My point is Not that Nate is a bad coach, but the offensive philosophy he is chained to is wrong for this particular team.
It is wrong for the players we have and it is clearly not working since the main go to guy (roy) is broken.
That's where the owner and GM have to make a decision about what type of team we want here and that starts with the coach.

My suspicions are that we are waiting to see if Oden can come back next year, we keep nate as coach, LA will be  LA and Roy can adjust to a new role. We will probably get younger at the point - but basically keep the offensive philosophy the same. This year will be a 500.%  year.

I saw the Orlando game the other night on TV. I saw Portland HANDLE Orlando. We ran circles around the Magic. Lamarcus was really good ..great..for about 2 and a half quarters but he disappeared pretty much in the 4th.Roy was non existant pretty much for the whole game. It was Miller and a whole lot of Wes with Joel and Camby irritating Howard. I cant understand why we cant do that every night? We had fastbreaks we ran we played like I know we can. Than we comeback and get beat by the Timberwolves ...sweet... (sarcasm is a virtue)

gretta777 brings up some good points, let's break it down for the umteenth time
    ____________________________________________________________________________

Martell Webster, 6' 6" 210lb SF, long time Blazer favorite, and had some nice games here.
    - traded this summer for Ryan Gomes, a very capable player from the Timberwolves

Ryan Gomes, 6' 7" 230lb SF, a decent defender, big body, can score the basketball.
    - was a Blazer for 10 minutes, until they traded Gomes for the #14 rookie draft pick sensation Luke Babbitt.

Luke Babbitt, 6' 8" 198lb SF, he's the sensational #14 pick of the 2010 NBA Draft.
    - can't dribble, was sent to the D league.

Pendergraph, C/PF 6' 9" 250lb, promising young talent, enjoyed hacking fools and bending the rim.
    - injured in preseason, Cho waived his contract, replaced Jeff with .......... nothin'

Bayless, PG/G 6'2" 200lb, hard worker, not afraid to get hurt, got to the foul line, leader of the bench brigade
    - Cho traded him for a rookie prospect next season, replaced with .......... nothin'

The big O, Greg Oden 7 foot, a million pounds
    - can't play, needs surgery, Cho replaced him with .......... Oberto

Oberto, 6'10 from Argentina, actually played fairly good and the Blazers jumped out to a 4-1 start.
    - he's got a bad ticker, had to retire, Cho replaced him with ........ Sean Marks

    Sean Marks.......uhhhhhhh

Bertram, I don't want to get rid of Nate. You have to admit he's stubborn if you have watched this team the last 4 years. I just wish he would not be so resistant to admitting when he makes a mistake :)
The problem is much bigger than 1 person here, imo.....

Please quit talking to Quick, it only makes it worse. You need to be talking to Nate !

AJ, ask Kidd as many questions as you can in Dallas.

It has also never been more obvious that Nate has one set of rules for Roy, and another for the rest of the team. That is not good for chemistry, imo.

He's stubborn sometimes yes, but I don't think admitting you're wrong to the media is a great move. That was the last thing our team needed in the last 4 years. But Kenny did hit the nail on the head. This team was built around a center who can be a deep post threat and a do it all perimeter player. We don't have that. What we have is Dr.Roberts #1 patient and half a Roy.

Talking to the media in Portland is never the answer.....

Make adjustments when needed is all I want, I guess I mean sooner, and not be so set in your plan when it isnt working. I believed the coaching changes were supposed to help this, not so far.

How do you build a team around a center you never actually had ?  I'm still not understanding that ??
The Blazers have an all-star center in Camby, the best back up in Pryz, and LA is more agressive than he has ever been this year.
The problem imo, is that the offense has revolved around Roy so much, that they have not been able to adjust when needed without him.  Nate, as the coach,  has to own part of that.

From the "breaking news " (still laughing at that)  today, it sounds like part of the problem is solved, and Roy has stopped pointing fingers.  Now he needs to re-connect with Nate, so they can all work together and win some games.

Yes the ship is sinking. The main reason... Brandon Roy is not the same player. I think Nate is not a championship coach, but he is still much better than anything available and he is a good guy. I'd say only get rid of him for only a few options which are probably impossible.

All these problems stem from Roy though. And really it is sad. He really was on a path to becoming at least a hall of famer with a great potential to help lead us to the Finals. And now it all seems gone. Yes I'm bummed, I feel like this season will be tanked yet not on purpose, but mostly I feel bad for Brandon. It was fun watching him get those dominating back to back 40+ games (just last year), the 52 (2 seasons ago), hitting game winners and just tearing people apart when he wanted to. But there is nothing it seems that he can do about it.

The ship sinking is a bit morbid.  For the ship to "sink", Portland would have to lose their franchise.  I prefer to look at it as...the ship is in port, it's paying customers eagerly awaiting their new ship and a new, exciting destination.

After last night, imo, its safe to say the water has stopped coming aboard.
Roy did not create the problem alone. Management and coach has something to do with only running the offense through him for years.

What was it Chacho always said " they put all their eggs in one basket with Roy " .

Roy this Roy that, management coaching blah blah blah blah. Come up with something else that actually makes sense. Conspiracies conspiracies conspiracies. Fact of the matter is our team sucks from top to bottom. Coaching can coach all they want but if the players aren't listening consistently we aren't going to win. WE are so content in taking jump shots all day we neglect to enter it into the post or drive to the basket. Even if we entered the post 50% of the time it's going to result in a LA fade-away. It's obvious that NATE tells the guys to attack the basket, because out of timeouts we suddenly take it to the cup, but 2 minutes after the timeout it's jump shot city. Tell me is that a coaching thing Kim? No. It's players decision.

Again this team was built around Oden and Roy. We don't have either right now, our team fundamentally is incomplete; trades need to happen period.

You want to talk about giving AJ a learning curve? AJ is garbage. He had one good game this season and that's why Patty took his spot. Patty isn't much better, but at least the offense is less stagnant. If you don't see that I don't know what to tell you.

I mean, what is it?  2 things we know it's NOT....it's not the fans, and it's not lack of money.

    SO WHAT IS IT?

It could be that the fans are too demanding, they believe that theyre players are elite when in fact they are battered and Torn.
They see upper management as not knowing what to do, where in actuality they are doing everything in their power to try and save their @$$, signing players at the last second, WM, Oberto, almost not caring about their abilities and just trying to get a full roster, and snipping away any extra baggage that may bring them down. ie Pendy.
It could be that, im not saying it is, it could be.

Or it could be the Management, and the monetary coaching style we posses.
Our manager is handling the team in a fantasy mindset, acquiring random, unnecessary players, and cutting away others for reasons beyond the fans.
I mean he cut Jeff at the first sign of pain, and yet weve been holding onto that anchor of a player , ODEN, and for why, media attention? Thats the only way the blazers seem to make the news these days, because they sure as heck dont win basketball games.

Or it could honestly be that there was alot of hope built up during the summer, alot of hype as well, and  well....hahah.... the Blazers dont handle hype as well as LeBron, you could say, because as soon as the doors opened for this year to begin, we were knocked off our feet.
It could just not be our year, and thats not foolish to think that, not every team has great statistical years, they rebound though and come back strong, as a force to be reckoned with after rebuilding.
Like who were the memphis grizzlies before they acquired Gasol? The knicks had nate robinson holding them together for a long time, teams like Golden state are still getting better and more noticed each day, i mean you guys have to be patient things dont happen as fast as they do on 2k11.hahah, continue going to games, if it doesnt break your bank, and find something productive to do to replace all your time spend on the blazers

I'm starting to notice that you are saying someone is too concerned with your opinions to more than one person now, maybe there's a reason for that or maybe I'm becoming too concerned with your opinions as well. ha ha
