This is a topic that has bugging me for quite a while, trading Roy is NOT what Portland needs. There has been a lot of talk among fans that Brandon should no longer be on the team because he is "whining about his minutes". I have heard some extremely disrespectful comments about Roy feeling his body cannot handle the amount of time he is playing; the guy played hard right after his surgery during the playoffs, obviously he understands his own body more than anyone. It is absurd to assume that just because he is a professional athlete that he is capable of performing 100% as often as he does if he is injured. So fellow fans please stop "hating" on Roy, let him play limited minutes and make every second valuable until he feels healthy enough to return to his all star capability. Trading the heart of our team is illadvised and irrational.

I dont think that we're in danger of anyone in their right mind abandoning a soldier like Brandon Roy. I respect his wishes. By all means, go and check yourself out, heal, get some rest. Im good with that. Personally, i dont want him out there if he isnt 100%.

Good post miss,  I been feeling the same way after pretty much turning the team around since he came and starting a new era in portland ppl want to trade him away.  For years he carried the team on his shoulder and his body isnt the same as 4 years ago.  And noone says ok lets work on a more team oriented offense instead of give it to roy or La n see what happens.  This is just a time for the team and fans to stand by Roy and the fans have faith in the team to carry the excess weight that Roy cant handle due to his health, hell even carry him if need be.  He is a top 5 finisher and closer in the league and shoots the highest percentage in the league during crunch time at 36% on game winning field goal.  Does noone remember him scoring 42 pts in the playoffs against the Rockets with the whole defense zoned in on him and finished without a turnover.  Thats work and heart if i ever seen it against 2 of the best defenders in the league.  If he needs help then our players can pick up slack they have respect for that man n his body of work. They can row the boat, Roy will tell em where to go.

I absolutely agree it just is so aggravating to hear fans diss Roy as harshly as they do! I don't understand how you would want Brandon gone just because he is injured and cannot play as many minutes.

Sorry for posting that twice. Right now is the time for fans to rally behind Roy and allow him to heal so he can return at the level we expect from the 3 time All-Star. Like you said CharmCity he can handle the pressure from zones with an "in your face" jumper. The entire team benefits from Brandon's presence, whether it be on the court or the bench, so Rip City fanatics need to have some faith in this team!

I don't want him traded or anything, but he does need to play more aggresively even if he is a little bit injured.  I know he is still capable of playing well right now, I saw him nail a few jumpers against the pistons yesterday, and his shot looked fine, so I think it is fair of us to expect much more out of him than 5 points on 0-6 shooting like what happened against the lakers even if he really is hurt.

I definately agree with you about roy being untradable though.  Even though he's had a couple subpar games, and I would like to see him improve more, there is no way we should trade the best player we have.

All the people calling for Roy to be traded are straight up morons. I think there is a group of about 4 trolling morons that live together in an abandoned basement somewhere and they beg for change on the street corners to use a pay phone to call in to radio shows to tell them "trade Roy!" and then they go to libraries to use the free internet and computers to troll and post "Trade Roy" in message boards and blogs.

Everyone else knows better. Brandon Roy is the heart of this team and without him it would just be a shell. I have never even considered trading Roy, and no way would I do it now just because he may be out a while. People think the sky is falling just because it's raining.

If you say "trading Roy isn't the answer," what is the question?
It's just unclear what that sentence means.
would it NEVER be the answer?
Say, he finds out he needs micro fracture surgery and he will be out all season?
If the question is do we trade him if he has to sit for 1/2 the season then I would agree that it is completely dumb to think of trading him, but if the question is, do we consider trading him, if he is going to be out all season and have a dark question mark over his head, like our potentially Awesome G.O, in terms of health, then I think the answer has to be maybe.
This isn't a crazy suggestion, Although I don't think it will happen, since No team will take his contract with all the question marks about his health.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
