After Pendergraph was injured, I really hope we don't play our stars heavy minutes at all. If this results in a slower start to the season? So be it. I really would hate to lose another key piece in a meaningless pre-season game. But, back to something positive, it's going to be petty epic playing again in the Glass Palace.  I'd also like to get a W over the Jazz, just to get the monkey off of our back.

Wish I was going!!! Just to be in the arena where 3 Finals were played in..Duck walking out of the tunnel of Game 7 against the Spurs...I hope they never tear down that building..too many memories.

We need a win though and I hope the young guys can lead us to victory since guys like Camby and LA probably won't log huge minutes tonight. Runny Babbitt had 18 last game, it would be nice if he could string together a few successful performances.

For me, a W isn't AS important as showing some pride and defending home court like it means something.  This Utah team EMBARRASSED us every opportunity on our OWN floor last season.  Ofcourse, a W is always welcome...but it is just pre-season and Nate is resting key players.  Send a message fellas...

I'm a season ticket holder & as I was slapping on my High Karate aftershave & poppin' my collar for tonight's game, I realized I had no tickets in my package. What gives?

So far this is Brandon's stats in the game. This definitely needs to improve!! I know it is  preseason but come on! You have to start playing regular season games soon!

Good game overall, stats were pretty even the Jazz had no quit in them, shot really well from beyond the arc, grabbed some key offensive boards and responded to every Blazer run. Refs made some really poor calls late in the 4th that killed any chance of a rally. (I have to keep telling myself its pre-season for everybody) Matthews techinal foul in the 4th was ludicrous and funny at the same time.

D looks solid, better than last years.  Really, really liking the second unit of Bayless, Matthews, and Fernandez
Blazers had a huge rally in the 3rd led by Matthews on the point...everything I saw him do tonight, doesn't look like we overpaid him at all.

Glad I got to see a Blazer game in the Coliseum, and in the 3rd row no less.

If Wes keeps it up in the regular season he definitely was worth it.

That new rule about calling players for T's for basically whatever they want is ridiculous. The worst thing about it is it is at the sole discretion of the ref! Translation: The refs can make the game go whatever way they are told a lot easier now without any reason.
I wish there was something we could do about this.

Think about it, the most intense part of a game is near the end of the 4th quarter, it is also the time when emotions will be their highest. It is gonna be REAL easy for the NBA to have a game go in favor of their big market teams and players because someone raises his arms??? Is that fair? Absolutely not!! I am also pretty sure that players such as Durant or Lebron will never get called for such T's for 2 reasons. One is they never get a bad calls on them in the first place and two they get star treatment even if they did it would be somehow overlooked.

As a fan i would rather see the players vent some frustration at either themselves or even the refs instead of having the refs make these cheesy calls in the most important time of a game! Maybe if the refs called the game fair for every team regardless of star players or market size, players wouldn't be doing it so much anyway! If a player keeps jawing at an official and he doesn't stop when asked or warned, I have no problem with him getting a T. But if all he does is look at a ref or raise his arms that is absolutely ludicrous!! This is getting so out of hand because the NBA does not have any competition in the US, and I wish it did. This is not going to stop here, they will keep adding more and more stupid rules until they run it into the ground or another league emerges (which is doubtful). It is basically a monopoly and sometimes I look forward to the players doing a lockout if they can demand more accountability for the refs.
    This really pisses me off.

OK I'm done venting for now.

One more thing , I bet if someone kept track of how many times we are called for these T's as opposed to our opponents we will get a lot more. I also knew that I would see it first hand on one of our players in a game, not on the opposition. Wow it came true. I'm surprised.

1 win against the clippers and 3 losses against Utah and Denver. Last place in the northwest div. Back up center for camby out for the season while Greg an Joel wait til they get better. Signed a center who played one game in 2008 as a back up center. Man, things are NOT looking good so far for our team this season. I know it is preseason and the season is a long haul, but my confidence so far is pretty low. A good mark for our team to see if it got better in the off season is if we can beat teams at any point in the season with our starters and second unit that we had a hard time beating last season. I think we failed. Utah lost boozer who gave us fits now we lose to Utah without boozer, twice. We lose to Denver without their key starters. Why? oh it's just preseason most will say, just wait til we get Oden back and Joel - well, we will see, but like voting for Obama, I think we will all be disappointed. If you say "it's just preseason" I'll say, "exactly" because in reality it is preseason for Utah and denver too and they still beat us. It isn't just preseason for us but the whole NBA and the good teams seem to still win to a high % of the time during preseason. The main point of this rant against the team that I have loved and followed for 20 plus  yrs is that this team needs more scoring, WE NEED ANOTHER HIGH SCORER AND GO TO GUY WHO WE KNOW WILL GET US POINTS. HOPING IN REALLY GOOD ROOKIES AND REALLY GOOD SECOND YEAR PLAYERS AND SPANISH PLAYERS WHO DON'T WANT TO BE HERE IS NOT GOING TO GET IT DONE. SIGNING A CENTER WHO PLAYED ONE GAME AND IS IN THE DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE IS NOT A CONFIDENCE BUILDING EXERCISE. ROY AND LA NEED A THIRD PLAYER TO CONSISTENTLY SCORE. WITHOUT A MAJOR TRADE FOR A MAJOR SCORING PLAYER (or a miracle with Oden) WE WILL END UP SAME PLACE AS LAST YEAR. Readers don't think I want to be a buzz kill just to be. I love the blazers but I have seen this movie before and it always ends the same.

20,000 + seats in the RG compared to only 12,000 in the MC. If season ticket holders were granted this game, I'd think they'd fill up the entire arena, which is why it wasn't included.

While I don't think we'll finish in last place in the NW or believe right now is the time to hit the panic button, I do agree with your sentiment that this team needs another All-Star to go along with Roy. Oden would have been that guy had he been able to stay healthy and he may still very well end up being that guy, but for right now, it's hard to count on that given what's occurred in the past.
