I think Rudy will really come out in the playoffs, he seems to play great under presher, he knows what presher is like by playing for gold in the Olympics. I also see Nic coming out too. Thease two young guys play a big peace on our team and we are pround and very happy to have them!! Like they say they are going to be here for a long time.
I am a fan of The Blazers and everyone on the team! They are all great.

I actually think it is really going to depend on match-ups. LaMarcus has really hit a solid stride recently and the calming effect Brandon has in pressure situations will really help everyone else. If we're going to be successful, we'll need to see that 3rd scorer emerge. I would say Steve Blake and Rudy are the two that would have the most opportunities to be that third scorer. With teams doubling on Roy and Aldridge, usually the spot up shooter is the one that is left open. And those two guys (Blake and Rudy( have been hitting their threes.

A gimpy K.G, Boston in't gonna make it. Lebron James is gonna' hurt fools this year. Kobe's pack of cheaters, and the Denver drug rehab team, will probably do well. But I definately see the Blazers taking the Spurs out in 5-6 games, in the first round. With a little confidence, Portland is a dangerous team. GO BLAZERS!

I think you both hit it. We're going to really need a full team effort if we want to make any waves in the playoffs. That means people like Blake, Batum, Rudy, and Travis (where's he been lately, cmon Super Trout) are going to have to step up big. And I think the person that needs to step up the biggest is Greg. He has the ability to annoy other teams just with his mere presence in the paint. If he can find a way to keep his fouls limited and continue to play hard like he has been lately, that is going to make it hard for other teams, which is nice for us.

Overall if everyone can just step their game up a little (even BROY and LaMarcus) we will be a force in the playoffs. It all just comes down to whether we can handle the spotlight and the moment. If we can do that, this team can beat anyone.
I am a fan of this team. Here's to hoping for a healthy season!!!

Greg Oden. I think he will step up big in the playoffs. The playoffs are usually more physical and are played at a slower pace. PERFECT for us and for Greg Oden.

Brandon and LA are going to do what they have done all season. They will shine because that is what they do, but the ones who will shine brighter in the Playoffs than they have all season are going to be Travis, Batum, and Rudy. I think Travis will step up and start rebounding because the games mean that much more. I think Batum will be blocking shots like he has of late, and I think Rudy will be more agressive off the dribble. Those are the parts of their game I see them making the adjustments and really pushing this team to a new level. After tonight, I could also see Channing stepping into that back up 4 spot with Travis, Rudy, Oden and Sergio. I think he will do much better there than at the back up 5 where they have had him all season. That's one of those statements where in three weeks I could look like a genius or an idiot, I'm hoping for genius.

Channing's game was nice tonight. Haha I think the cleanup job he did on his hair/face helped him focus more. He was hittin' long shots, rebounding well, and moving the ball when he needed to. If he keeps that intensity up, he will settle into the backup 4 spot nicely. I think you're pretty spot on with the rest, too. Everyone just seems to be rounding out their respective games to help fill the gaps that are in them. Sergio has been backing up Blake nicely, even scoring more. Travis and Rudy look inside more, Travis to board and Rudy to hit stuff inside the deep line; Nicolas is becoming more aware offensively; and Oden is starting to run less like a drunk ogre (haha I love Oden but that just sounded funny to type). Roy is still sic (please though, lets not start saying "just Roy being Roy"); and you can't even say enough about how LA is doing. All in all, P-Town's gonna be a force to be reckoned with come playoff season!

I agree everyone will need to step it up a bit in the playoffs but I see Travis doing this the most- he seems to play better this time of year so should just continue to get better each game!

I think if we are going to go anywhere in the playoffs Brandon and LTrain will have to continue doing what they do. Blake will have to hit threes, Batum will have to continue to be a monster defender, and Pryz will have to continue to dominate the boards. But most of all, GO will have to stay out of foul trouble and negate the Yao's of this league.
If we pull SA for the first round, I think it will be won in the matchup between LTrain and Duncan. Parker will get his, BRoy will get his, but the difference will be at the PF position.

Well, Rudy should have read this post. So far, the only ones stepping up are Brandon and LTrain. We will go nowhere further unless Travis, Rudy and the others start stepping up.

If Outlaw steps it up, thats a good 15-25 points off the bench. If Rudy hits his threes, thats another 9-18 points off the bench. If Outlaw scored 20 (12 more than he did), and Rudy scored 14 (only three req.), Portland wins by 15 more points than they did. 15 points in the NBA is a HUGE difference. We just need the bench to step it up a tad bit. It's a lot easier to divide the load of playing in Houston between 5 guys, than it is placing it all on the shoulders of two.

Roy, and L.A. accounted for 69 points last night. Everyone else only accounted for 38. With the skill the Blazers have, That game should have been a blowout. Like i said earlier even just 13 points is a big difference. Add in Oden's 15 from game 1, and that 11 more than he did score in game 2. That's 24 points added on. score coulda been 131-103.

That my friends is production and if the bench adds numbers like that. If you take 12 from Roy, he scores two less than game one. you take 9 from L.A. and hes scoring his average for the season at 18 or 19. You still win the game 114-103.

When (not if) the bench steps up. The Blazers are a force to be reckoned with. And it will be beautiful.

I completely agree. I don't know if it's playoff jitters, or just Rudy and Travis's normal inconsistency, but they need to get it figured out. What I really loved seeing last night was LTrains intensity and aggressiveness. He was a rebounding animal out there, and quite frankly, I loved seeing him get five fouls. I am a big believer that the PF should always walk away from a game with at least 4, the center also. That sends the message that if you come inside, you better be prepared to pay the price. That's why I was not bothered at all when Oden and Joel got called for fouls on Yao last night...as a matter of fact, I loved it. The interior defense also did a great job underneath. I can't count how many times Brooks dribbled underneath and was defended so well that he had to kick it back outside and Houston had to settle for late 24 second jump shots. It was beautiful. BLAZERMANIA BABY!

I thought Rudy played very well... and Travis was okay. He missed some shots, but he blocked one shot and got some defenseve rebounds. Also hit some big buckets. NO doubt the team needs more from him though.

I agree, they played well and good, but that won't get it in the playoffs. Look at Brooks. He has stepped up his game to playoff intensity. I think Rudy, Travis, Greg and Batum, all need to do the same thing.

Yes he did play really well last night 11 pts in only 19 minutes, WHY is he only getting 19 minutes? Blake was in there 39 and only had 10 pts I say give him more minutes

Blake also had 5 assists to Rudy's 1. That's why Blake is in there. But I agree, Blake is off on his three pointers. I do like the way he is penetrating though. Rudy only shot one three pointer. Whats up with that?

They aren't looking to him. They are still playing it close to the vest, they aren't quite into their rythm yet. It's like any other milestone. A baseball player will sit at 499 HRs for for a long time before he gets that number 500. Then once he gets over that hump he goes on another tear. Same thing, our first try we lost. Second try we got it, but we played it tight. Now they have that first Playoff win and they can get to work on Houston.
