He isnt worth Batum being involved in trade talks. Are you kidding me? He's the one thats going to be called upon to check CP#. And ersonally, i like his chances. What has that boy done since he's been here but improve. He is our Tony Parker on steroids. He is a perfect compliment to the Natural. Dare i say, he is Pippen reincarnated. No, no, my Blazer Peeps, he's a keeper.

I'm not sure what this is in reference to, I must have missed what CP3 said. Now, here is my take, if you have to give up Batum to get CP3, you better get Deng from Chicago or some other highly regarded SF in order to ease the pain in the starting unit. With that said, in a Batum/CP3 trade you do get better, but you have to give up a lot to get there so your net value (although an increase) is not extremely high. However, if you can keep three of the main four starters (Aldrige, Roy, Oden, and Batum with a special focus on the latter three) and get a guy like a Parker or Billups or Harris maybe even Kidd, then your net gain (atleast in the short term) is much higher. If you were to get Deng and re-sign Outlaw, then you have another solid core battling for that starting 3 spot and although you miss Batum and have to watch him elsewhere, you have CP3 and a possible ring or two. It's hard to say, but that is how I see it.

Nic is not even a trade option, for anyone.
How do you stop CP3?  Just like all the other super stars...... Nic Batum !

Here's the thing though, I love Nicolas Batum and all but you are trading a potentially great player for a very rare potential hall of fame point guard. And sure Nicolas Batum can stop Chris Paul all he wants if he were to play for NO, but he sure ain't stopping Brandon Roy, LaMArcus Aldridge and Greg Oden at the same time.

I don't think that New Orleans getting a ton better was ever the concern in this topic, I think the question is the overall benefit of acquiring Paul in exchange for Batum. Again, CP3 is a decent perimeter defender in his own right, at least against other PGs. If you have Oden and Camby holding down the paint, guys like CP3 can gamble on going for steals more creating more fast breaks and more scoring opportunities. If you were to re-sign TO to fill that SF spot then he too can help block shots making an impressive starting line up. This is another area where LA could really improve his game. If he were to become a better help defender and shot blocker than a versatile perimeter stopper like Batum wouldn't be as necessary and you could easily make a deal like this happen for a guy who can play good D on the opposing team's player at that position. What makes Batum hard to trade is he is big enough and quick enough to guard anyone from PG's to PF's on the perimeter. He can slow down Paul, he can stop Dirk, and he can do as well as anyone on Kobe and LeBron. It's against those other teams where you really feel the hurt.

Why not? Getting Oden back for 15 a game wouldn''t be that bad if he can do as he did in his 1st season. Close to 2 blocks a game and anything close to 5 boards. He would provide a good presence and he can read the game quite well.

To go another season with so many rookies is not a good idea. We need a couple of vets and atleast one young bench scorer. If we want a Center, go after Hawes from Philly and Dorrell wright can be signed as a free agent. We can trade our 2nd round...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.

Sug81 I love Iggy but this team has numerous gaping holes throughout the depth chart so signing Iggy is not the best way to spend our limited funds

That roster looks pretty good, but if we would have enough cash Corey or Ronnie brewer would be nice
