No link, saw it on SportsCenter-

Basically, David Aldridge thinks the Blazers were that close to signing Lee last offseason, that they'll go after him again. First off, it'd have to be a sign and trade, since I doubt he'd sing here for $6 million a season with Drew Gooden already signing for more. BUT, Portland would have to wait and see how badly the Knicks swing and miss with LeBron and Amare before any real talks can take place, because the Knicks want to see what they can get with their cap space first and if they sign and trade, they have to take on salary. They have been rumored to have interest in Rudy, but who knows?

Signing Lee would be the worst move the Blazers could make.

We can send Rudy just about anywhere, but Id rather not get Lee for Rudy.

I love David Lee's game. He can score and rebound very very well. Coming in off the bench behind Aldridge would make our second unit even that more deadlier.

Camby can back up Aldridge.  We need a shooter or a PG like CP3.

We got a shooter, his name is Luke Babbitt and PLEASE do not bank your offseason expectations on whether we get CP3 or not. It is highly, highly unlikely the Hornets trade their franchise player. It's probably not going to happen, so lower the expectations. If you can get Lee for Przy and Rudy, you take it and RUN. Then you can deal Aldridge and other pieces and TRY to go after a CP3 or Tony Parker type of point guard.

Lee would be a great pick up for Portland. I thought that the contract offer given to Paul Millsap last year should have been given to David Lee instead. Lee can play both the 4 and the 5 position, he's a great rebounder and you never hear of him getting into any trouble off the court. Since it seems that Portland will not land a legit PG this offseason David Lee should be their #1 priority! It would take more more than Rudy to get him. I say probably Bayless+Rudy+Joel Pryzbilla to the Knicks. New York is out of the LBJ sweepstakes and Joe Johnson is headed back to the ATL so NY might sign Lee themselves.......

I don't think the Spurs would take LA, i really don't. LA can't play the center position and his contract is up there. Jefferson did opt out of his contract but he is not going anywhere and they just signed Ginobli for big money during the season. The Spurs have their eye on Nicolas Batum and I don't see the Blazers giving up Nic for any player. Batum reminds me of Scottie Pippen......Nic is putting up numbers and progressing the same way Pippen did.  Parker has one year left on his contract so probably the Blazers stick with Miller for one more season and then go hard for Tony Parker. I don't think the Blazers can compete with the elite teams in the west with Miller at the point.

    Chad Ford, ESPN Insider:
The Blazers got close to a deal with the Hornets last week that would've sent Andre Miller, Joel Przybilla, Nicolas Batum, Jerryd Bayless and the 22nd pick to NO for Paul before Jeff Bower pulled out of the deal saying that their owner wasn't ready to trade Paul. The trade they made on draft night got them out of the luxury tax, so that's no longer the issue. The issue is whether Paul is no unhappy enough to force a trade. Personally I think the Hornets can do better than that for Paul, but it's a viable deal. As for Melo, I do think they'll explore moving him ... but not for the Eddy Curry Danilo Gallinari package people are writing about.

Sometimes where there is smoke there is fire, and sometimes there is a BLAZE... Not one to add to all the speculation, however, has anyone noticed the sale items in the online Blazers store. Webster, traded on draft night, tee shirt going for $9.00. OK I am fine with that he is gone... But both Pryz and Rudy shirts are also greatly discounted. These two players are also the main ones rumored to be on the move... So what you guys thinks? Or is this just Mel Gibson Conspiracy Theory stuff?

My only question is if David Lee would play bench minutes. The man is a starter on a lot of teams in the NBA

With the money some of these guys are already getting, I would think it would be very difficult for the Blazers to work out a deal that would pay Lee what he thinks he deserved at this point.

If Rudy Gay got MAX money, then why shouldn't David Lee who is arguably a better player?

It would be great to see a battle between LA and lee for a starting position, I think Lee would win the position. Or maybe LA would stand up for himself and be what we want him to be, which is, better. But we don't have the money to pay him (Lee) so this isn't going to happen. clydefrog is so right about babbitt being that shooter and we don't really need a point guard we have 4. Miller can compete here out west so stop hating. With bayless coming off the bench as point, our point position is fine, at least until next year. we need a paint presence, but like dhawes22 suggested I don't think we have the money and the field is thin.

Okay obviously Lee is not coming off the bench for any team....and we would have to give up a lot more than rudy for him. Lets just trade Aldridge and Rudy and whatever else for Bosh in a sign and trade. That is the answer right there.

From what I've heard/read, Bosh has no desire to play in Portland, so we can scrap any sign and trade ideas for CB4 in PDX.

IF we go after Lee than we'll need to do something with LMA, cause I doubt Lee's gonna come off the bench for us, we're probably going to give him starter type money...I agree he would be money off the bench and would give that second unit some pop but I just don't see him and LMA working together.

so not saying that id want this to happen, but say by some sort of pure magic, portland signs lee, would the next option be to maybe send joel and his expiring contract somewhere for ashooter? Maybe even including Rudy? I'd hate to see Joel go,  but if portland is going after Lee, which i doubt,  i would see this is the only way to not get big heavy.

Another thought about Lee, is that he would take any minutes Dante would get. I really like Dante and want to see more of him used to give LA rest.

I think ANY free agent we pick up would set up a follow up move. Hypothetically, let's say we signed and traded for Lee, then we could use Aldridge (for example) as trade bait for a player such as Parker or Devin Harris.

I agree....David Lee isn't gonna be comming off the bench for anybody.....if we were to get him...it would make LaMarcus Aldridge disposable...his offense is a big upside to his game and has gained him popularity through the leauge....his stock is about as high as it could be right now....

Lee's name is a hot one right one. The latest has him heading to the Wolves in a 3 way deal

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the deal would have David Lee wind up in Minnesota (a place he visited last week), Monta Ellis in New York and Al Jefferson in The Bay. Considering all three teams are looking to move their contracts, it seems like this trade would make sense.
