Report: Wizards Ready To Dump Arenas, Will Consider Buyout

    Snippet-
Former Washington Times reporter John Mitchell, who writes for TheGrio.com, indicates the Wizards are committed to removing Gilbert Arenas from the roster before next season.

According to a source, the team will "definitely consider buying out" Arenas' contract if he cannot be traded.

The Wizards will select John Wall with the first overall pick and, according to two league sources with knowledge of the team's future plans, will do everything in their power to make sure that Wall is never in the same locker room as Arenas.

If Washington bought him out, would you take a risk on Gilbert and sign him for less than the mid-level exception?

    Pros-
    Shooter
    Can play off the ball
2nd 20 pt scorer to take pressure off of Roy
    Only 28

    Cons-
    Off-court troubles
    Injured past
    Ball dominant

Depends on the contract. I really think he is misunderstood and is overall a good person. If Oden isn't able to come back healthy, it may be worth it to take a shot on Arenas with a short contract. If it works great, if it doesn't, he wouldn't be around long anyways. He did average 23 points this season before being suspended. I also think this team is over the whole jail-blazers image and it would be acceptable to take on someone of Gilbert's past.

Not really, but its not because of his past. I like Andre a lot and think he is a good enough point guard to win a title with and Bayless is our future lead guard. Its almost like, we have finally found a decent point guard in Andre and it was so nice actually watching us play with a legit pg this season and I don't want to throw that away. PG is the least of our concerns imo.

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
