    Joel Przybilla
    Position: C
    Height/Weight: 7-1/255
NBA experience: 10 seasons (6 with Portland)
    2009-10 salary: $6,857,725
Contract status: Joel Przybilla has a player option for 2010-11 with the Trail Blazers worth $7,405,300.

2009-10: Przybilla posted averages of 4.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.43 blocks and 22.7 minutes in 30 games (nine starts) ... Underwent surgery to repair a ruptured right patella tendon on Dec. 24, 2009 .. Underwent surgery to repair a re-ruptured right patella tendon on March 8, 2010 ... Pulled in double figures in rebounds in six straight games (12/11-12/20) for first time since a seven-game stretch March 17-28, 2005 ... grabbed 10 or more rebounds 13 times this season ... recorded a block in 22 of 29 games ... had two or more blocks in 13 games.

A year after playing in his first full, healthy season in the NBA, Joel Przybilla's 2009-10 campaign came to a painful halt in December. A frustrating end to his season was made doubly frustrating when Przybilla re-ruptured his right patella tendon a mere 10 weeks after surgery to repair the original tendon rupture.

Prior to his injury, Przybilla was having his usual productive season. In 29 games, Przybilla was second on the team in rebounds, offensive rebounds (2.4), and blocked shots. In his first season as a full-time reserve, playing behind Greg Oden, he led the NBA in rebounds (154), and ranked second in offensive rebounds (50) and blocked shots (27) before entering the starting lineup on Dec. 7.

The timetable for Przybilla's return is still unknown, but Trail Blazers' strength and conditioning coach Bob Medina said this week he is "on schedule."

The big question this offseason could be what does Portland do with Joel Przybilla? Normally it would be a no-brainer to keep the heart and soul of the Blazer defense, but after tearing his patella tendon for the 2nd time, not only is his 2011 season in jeopardy, but his career as well. How will he recover from such a devastating injury? We know with his hard work ethic, he'll give it all he's got, but what lasting effects  will the injuries have on Joel's game? Also, is there enough room for Joel, Greg, and Marcus all on the same team?

Agreed. Sorry Joel, injuries are never personal, but 3's a crowd when it comes to one position and all players are pretty dang good. I do hope you are able to play again, but it's not a risk we can afford to take.

    3's a crowd....

Tell me Frog, what guarantee is it you have that all 3 will remain healthy every game all season based on the history of injuries between the 3 of them  ?

    Joel stays !

I think he'll go if hassan whiteside slips to 22 and we still have that pick. Then we have a backup for greg in a couple years when camby retires or leaves and we don't have to pay him 6mil

I would love it if Whiteside slipped to us at 22. There is always a player who drops in the draft and maybe it could be him. You can never have enough big bodies in this league today.

You''re right. They should dump Monta though. I was thinking maybe the Rockets could use the number 1 pick to get the lakers to do a sign and trade for D12.

Batum is a great fit for their system and is young. Plus a lottery pick and potentially 2 other first rounders would give them a ton of flexibility.

If they say no we move on but at least offering the deal publicly will...

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
