Momentum changing turnovers late in the game and an inability to box out on the defensive boards nullified a fourth quarter Portland lead, with the end result being a 89-88 loss to the Rockets (3-1) at the Toyota Center Sunday night.     The Portland Trail Blazers (1-2) battled back from 17 down, but in the end could not overcome the Houston Rockets (2-1), falling 86-83 at the Toyota Center on Friday night. Houston jumped out to an early lead Friday, taking a 17-8 lead on two made free throws from Yao Ming with 1:21 remaining in the opening quarter. The Trail Blazers will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2003 as the Western Conference’s fourth seed, hosting the Houston Rockets.     It’s been a tiring and emotionally draining week for the Portland Trail Blazers. The combination of clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2003, playing four games in five nights and coming back from double digit deficits against the Grizzlies, Spurs and Lakers has taken a toll on the bodies and minds of the Red and Black. Nevertheless, Portland found a way to hold off a resilient Clippers team 97-72 at the Staples Center Saturday night for their 52nd win of the season and their 20th win on the road.
