Coming off an overtime loss that snapped their three-game road winning streak, there's probably no place the Portland Trail Blazers would rather visit than Minnesota.
The Trail Blazers have already blown out the Timberwolves three times this season to extend their winning streak against Minnesota to 11, and they can sweep their Northwest Division rivals for the third straight season with a victory Saturday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 PM.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 32 points and pulled down a career-best 15 rebounds and Brandon Roy added 23, but the Trail Blazers still weren't able to pull past the Bulls, losing 115-111 in overtime Friday night.
“We had our shots at it. We just didn't make the plays when we had to," said Nate McMillan. "We were able to fight back into the game. However, they were quicker all night to the ball and quicker in running their sets. It just looked like we had heavy legs all night.”

Mark Bryant didn’t really know what to expect when the Trail Blazers selected him out of Seton Hall with the 21st pick in the 1988 NBA Draft. Having spent most of his life living in east coast cities, Bryant wasn’t entirely prepared for what would await him in the Pacific Northwest.
“When I first got here I was like ‘Where am I?’ Just flying over all the trees, I’m not used to that. I’m from the city. I started walking around on the streets; people were so friendly to me, everybody asking ‘How are you doing?’ And I’m like ‘What’s going on?’”

A favorable schedule has helped the Chicago Bulls to one of the NBA's best records since the All-Star break. That recent success will be tested as the Bulls' schedule takes a tough turn beginning with Friday night's visit from the Portland Trail Blazers. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 PM.
Chicago will get its first test against a Portland team that's opened a five-game road trip with a pair of victories after dropping eight of its previous 13 games overall.
"We showed that we're hungry and that we're not going to let this season slip away,'' coach Nate McMillan said after a 101-87 win at Toronto on Wednesday night. "I like the fight that we've had in these last two games."

Andre Miller had 18 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, Brandon Roy scored 20 points, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Toronto Raptors 101-87 on Wednesday night.
Rudy Fernandez scored 17 points, Jerryd Bayless had 11 and Juwan Howard 10 for the Trail Blazers, who won their second straight to open a five-game road trip that will also take them to Chicago, Minnesota and Memphis.

Until this past weekend, Chris Bosh's health had not been a concern for the Toronto Raptors. The Portland Trail Blazers, meanwhile, had to suspect newly acquired Marcus Camby would eventually miss some time.
Bosh is expected to be a game-time decision as the Raptors try to continue their success at home Wednesday night in a matchup with a Blazers team that will be without Camby. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 PM PST.

“I felt like tonight we were going to win it because the players were talking to each other and they weren’t going to let this game slip away and they didn’t. The Nets got hot, Courtney Lee and Devin Harris were great in the second half. What we tried to do with Brook Lopez was move him around. He is just a big guy, he is smart and he is long.
We got the stops we needed and got the win we needed”.

Sitting in the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings, the Portland Trail Blazers (32-26) know they’ll need to build some sort of momentum if they’re to make the postseason for the second-consecutive season. A win against the New Jersey Nets, owners of an NBA-worst 5-51 record, would be a good way to start a move up the conference ladder and a five-game road trip. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

Carlos Boozer scored on an offensive putback at the end of regulation to force overtime, then gave Utah its first lead since the opening minutes, and the Jazz rallied from down 25 in the third quarter to stun the Portland Trail Blazers 93-89 in overtime on Sunday night.
Down 64-39 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter, Utah staged a shocking rally by outscoring the Blazers 44-19 over the final 19 minutes to send what seemed like a sure Portland win into overtime.

Utah looks to win its seventh straight away from home and sweep the Portland Trail Blazers for the first time in four years Sunday night.
Portland hopes the recent addition of Marcus Camby can help them avoid the sweep. The Blazers fell 96-76 to Boston on Friday, posting their lowest point total of the season and managing seven assists - tying a franchise low.
"Tonight was like having two new guys in the lineup with Marcus and bringing Brandon (Roy) back," coach Nate McMillan said. "We need to work on trying to get a rhythm and rotation to fit this team."

The Trail Blazers were hoping to become a better defensive team, especially in the paint, with the addition of Marcus Camby, but it couldn’t be expected to happen overnight. Friday night’s 96-76 loss to the Boston Celtics at the Rose Garden validated that notion.
“As a team, we didn’t get it done,” said head coach Nate McMillan. “Defensively, we didn’t defend them. They had like 20-some points in the paint that first half and they weren’t off of post-ups, they were off of cuts. That’s just a matter of keeping your body between your man and the basket. We didn’t do a good job of that.”

At 5-foot-9, Nate Robinson needs every bit of the jumping ability he brings to the Boston Celtics. In Marcus Camby's case, the Portland Trail Blazers were clearly looking for a player with a little more size.
With Robinson perhaps set to make his debut, the Celtics come off a win over the Western Conference's top team to face the Trail Blazers and their newest acquisition Friday night at the Rose Garden. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
