Game Two: Trail Blazers @ Mavericks Thread
After giving up Game One 89-81, the pressure now has shifted into the Trail Blazers' corner. Portland will look to get back at it Tuesday night at 6:30 pm and in order to get the all important split, they must find a way to get more out of Wesley Matthews & Gerald Wallace. In the first half of Game One, those two were 0-6 from the floor. Wallace picked it up in the second half, scoring 8, but he never seemed to be 100% comfortable out there, while Wesley finished with only 2 points on 1-3 shooting in 19 minutes. Chalk it up to first game jitters for Gerald and early foul trouble for Matthews. One player who had no jitters and continued his torrid play against Dallas was LaMarcus Aldridge who posted 27 points and 6 rebounds. And despite shooting uncharacteristically bad from 3 (2-16) and at the foul line (9-13) Portland still held a 72-66 lead midway through the 4th. With that all said, it took a 24 point night (9-14 FG, 6-10 From 3) from Jason Kidd to get the Mavericks over the hump.
So Rip City, how does Portland bounce back in Game Two?
