Trail Blazers vs. 76ers Game Thread
The Trail Blazers wrap up their quick, three-game homestand against the 76ers, a team notoriously known as a thorn in our side. Not only did Philly defeat us, 88-78, back on November 30th, but we haven't been able to knock off Philly at home since the 07-08 season (the last victory of the 13-game win streak). I thought once we go then-Blazer killer Andre Miller from them that they would stop nipping us in the bud, but no such luck has occurred.
One player helping Philly play over their heads this season has been Andre Iguodala, arguably the best wing defender in the league. Similar to Wallace, Iggy is a triple-double threat every time he steps onto the court, plays with high energy and fills up the box score line none other. So for Portland to pick up win #3 in a row, they need to focus on A.I. and slow him down. Much like they defended Dirk, throw multiple defenders at him, trying to disrupt his rhythm. A big advantage Portland has over Philly is their size down low. LA should have no problems taking the likes of Speights and Spencer H. down low and Camby + Wallace should have a field day on the glass.
