The Portland Trail Blazers (33-40) didn't do much to stop the Golden State Warriors (42-32) in the early going and the Warriors kept their hot shooting all night. The Trail Blazers lost 125-98 and the Warriors shot 54 percent on the night while the Trail Blazers shot 38 percent. Meyers Leonard had a career night for the Trail Blazers, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 40 minutes of action.

Without Aldridge, one would think the Trail Blazers would want to get in transition, but the Golden State Warriors make things more complicated. They can be lethal in transition to any opponent and Stephen Curry is one of the league's premier perimeter threats from beyond the arc. The Trail Blazer started off pretty well from the field, with Meyers Leonard establishing himself early on for what would be a career night of 22 points and 10 rebounds.

However, the Trail Blazers could stop the Warriors, no matter who was shooting at the basket. Curry was launching from deep and the Warriors front court players were getting easy buckets. They shot 70 percent after the first quarter leading the Trail Blazers 36-31. Stotts, with good reason, didn't want the game to start off at that pace.

"Look, they are a hard team to stop and when Steph Curry makes some of the shots that he makes, you know, all you can do is tip your hat to him. But, no, I didn't want to get (into a shootout). They are an explosive offensive team and we're without LaMarcus so it wasn't necessarily a case of us wanting to play that way. The first quarter we had a very good offensive quarter but I didn't know if we could sustain that.

Steph Curry lit up the scoreboard with 39 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Warriors and Carl Landry helped the Warriors, bringing 25 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Led by seven threes from Curry, the Warriors shot nine of 20 from three (45 percent).

Meyers was the biggest bright spot on the night for the Trail Blazers as he got them off to a great start. Wesley Matthews (18 points) started out hot but began to fade towards the end and Damian Lillard (16 points, eight assists) was forced to get most of his offense from the line. JJ Hickson had another double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds but Meyers stole the show.

Leonard was dunking almost everything and even hit his first career three pointer in the second half while getting his first double-double as a pro.

The Trail Blazers threatened to make runs towards the end but the Warriors continued to pour it on, proving why they are going to be a playoff team for the first time in six seasons.

The Trail Blazers move on to Utah to face the Jazz to whom they lost on Friday night. They play in Utah on Monday night. Tip-off is at 6PM in Salt Lake City where they will once again be without LaMarcus Aldridge.
