    POSTGAME QUOTES

    HEAD COACH TERRY STOTTS

“Just another win. [Laughs]. I can’t get tired of appreciating what our team does as far as competing and fighting and never giving up. We’ve all seen it a number of times already this year, but it never gets old. We kept finding a way. There were too many big plays to remember, but just from being down 21 and coming back, a lot of people contributed to that comeback. Everybody that played the second half contributed to the comeback.”

On Aldridge’s three to tie game, his first three of the season:
“LaMarcus has a nice touch out there. He took his time and he made it. It’s his first one of the year, but I’ve seen him shoot them in practice and it’s not like he’s a non-shooter. He has a nice touch. I was glad to see it go in.”

    On defense in fourth:
“I really don’t want to single out one guy because when I thought when you play the defense that we played in the second half compared to the first half, it was a team effort. When we’re defending Dirk’s pick and rolls, it means the guys on the ball have to do a job and JJ or whoever has to be able to rotate and everybody has got to cover up his man. Everything we did, team rebounding – I thought everybody contributed defensively. Their team with OJ Mayo and Vince and Dirk and Collison and Shawn Marion, they’ve got a lot of guys who can score. That’s why it was a team effort. Dallas is a team that everybody that’s on the floor is usually pretty dangerous.

    On describing season
“We’re only 45 games into it… It’s been enjoyable, it’s a fun team to coach. I think everybody and certainly I appreciate the effort that the players give. The season – I don’t want to give a retrospect on the season right now. We’re in the middle of a playoff race and to try and put this season in perspective right now is too soon.”

On Aldridge’s shot putting All-Star selection in perspective?
“It’s always been a perspective for me. People can think what they want to think, but LaMarcus, there’s no question in my mind he’s an All-Star. He didn’t have to make that shot to prove he’s an All-Star. He proves it every night.”

    LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE
    On game-tying three-pointer:
“I saw it on film – I didn’t think I did it like that, I thought I caught it and took a dribble but I didn’t. I caught it and all in one motion just shot it. I just felt good about it, I just shot it. It felt good. I thought everybody was overly hyped for it, but I was like the game isn’t over yet. But it feels good.

Were you surprised to hit the three?
“It felt good so no. I was surprised that Nic threw it to me, yes. That I made it, no.”

Were you surprised at being able to catch the ball so deep on last play?
“I was surprised. I was surprised I caught it so deep and I just turned. I was very surprised.”

“We just came out and we got down 21, 22, and guys kept playing, kept fighting tonight and we got one.”

    On game-winner moments:
“This is what you live for. I thought guys were into the game the whole game. They made some tough shots early, but I thought our defense got better late, better in the game.”

    NICOLAS BATUM
    On win:
“Big win, big win. I knew these six games coming were going to be against good teams, five for playoff spots like Dallas, Minnesota and Utah, so this game was huge for us.”

On confidence of coach to draw up late plays despite struggles:”
“It was huge because I was like two for fifteen; I missed two big free throws. We needed a three and he drew a play for me. So I was like ok, I’ve got to make a shot. The second play was for me too but LA was wide open so I trust my guy. I appreciate the confidence.”

Describe Aldridge in locker room after game:
“He was smiling like a rookie, like his first NBA game. He was happy, but it was a big shot by LA. We needed those two shots – they show people that he really is an All-Star. He is an All-Star. He is a go-to guy, he’s one of the best.”

Howard, A. Varejao).

    - Perfection … Hickson was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line, marking the most free throws he has made without a miss in his career.
