Postgame Notes And Quotes: Kings Prevail

    On tonight’s game
“It was disappointing that we got off to a good start and it got away from us and we never really re-established ourselves. We cut it to three a few times. We tightened up in the second half. They shot the ball very well in the second half, over 70 percent. We just couldn’t keep up with them. They made a lot of good plays defensively and we weren’t as solid as we needed to be. Offensively, turnovers hurt us early but we kind of got those under control as the game went on.”

On the Kings missing key players
“I thought that they played very well. In this league when players are missing for whatever reason the other players usually take that as an opportunity to play and we’ve had that for us. During our homestand we had some players get hurt and other players took advantage of the opportunity. I think same thing happened tonight with the Kings.”

    Going into the second quarter
“We got a 10-point lead. It reminded me of the Phoenix game a little bit where the ball was moving and we had nice rhythm. The Kings did a nice job . We had some turnovers. They hit some shots and our lead went away. We didn’t play with the same rhythm offensively to start the game.”

    After the first quarter
“I think we had a good first quarter and they just started to make a lot of shots and we stopped making shots. We probably had a couple of 50-50 balls go their way and they just capitalized on our mistakes.”

    On fatigue
“I felt fine. I just think it was one of those games where the other team just played better than us. Probably some defensive possessions where we made more mistakes than we usually do or shouldn’t have. They took advantage of it. They made shots.”
