    -- Portland’s 29-point win is tied for its sixth-largest preseason victory in franchise history, last achieved on Oct. 7, 2008 vs. Sacramento (110-81), also a preseason opener at the Rose Garden.

    -- The Trail Blazers’ 115 points are their most in a preseason contest since scoring 125 points Oct. 26, 2007 vs. Denver.

    -- Portland’s 16 3-pointers (of 27) are four more than it made in any regular season game in 2009-10 (12 vs. Toronto, March 14) … The Trail Blazers made 16 of their first 25 attempts tonight … Five players made multiple shots from downtown.

    -- The Trail Blazers opened the preseason at the Rose Garden for the ninth consecutive year and improved their record to 8-1 in those games … Portland is now 10-1 in preseason openers at the Rose Garden and 31-14 in preseason games at the Rose Garden overall.

    -- The Trail Blazers are now 16-4 in preseason action against the Clippers, including a 6-1 mark in Portland (5-1 at the Rose Garden).

    -- Portland improved its record in preseason openers to 29-12, including a 4-0 mark against the L.A. Clippers … The Trail Blazers have not posted a losing record in the preseason since 2006.

    -- Wesley Matthews led all players with 20 points and nine free throws made (of 10).

    -- Rudy Fernandez made his first four 3-point attempts in the game and led all players in 3-point field goals with five (of six).

    -- LaMarcus Aldridge tied game highs and posted team highs with seven rebounds and six field goals made.

    -- Nicolas Batum converted his first three field goals (inc. two 3-pointers) in scoring eight of the team’s first 12 points … In 37 games last season, Batum shot 51.9% from the field and 40.9% from 3-point range.

    -- Brandon Roy scored all 12 of his points in the third quarter on 4-for-6 field goal shooting (2-2 3-PT).  

    -- Portland outscored Los Angeles on the fastbreak, 8-0, in the first quarter and held a 10-0 advantage in the category at halftime.

    -- More than half of Portland’s points were scored by players off the bench (60-55) … The Trail Blazers’ reserves outscored the Clippers’ bench, 60-41.

    -- The Clippers’ 28 turnovers are seven more than any team totaled in a regular season game against the Trail Blazers during the 2009-10 season (21, five times).

    -- The Clippers did not go to the foul line until the 10:46 mark of the second quarter … The Trail Blazers had already taken 12 free throws (made 11) by that point.
