COACH NATE McMILLAN

 On Oden
“I thought he was great. I thought he was really patient in the post, did a nice job of taking his time, reading the defense, and if the defense played him with single coverage he was able to score. He got deep post position to start with. When they tried to double team, he did a good job of making good decisions out of the post. I thought he was really good. His pick and roll defense was really good on Rose, being up on those screens and forming that wall we talked about. I thought our bigs, not just Greg, but Greg, LaMarcus – you know, the combination of Greg, LaMarcus, and Brandon with Andre coming in and keeping that thing going.

“I just thought it was a solid game from start to finish with our guys.

“I thought it was a good rhythm. They played off of each other. They took what the defense gave them and they made the defense pay. We went to different guys at different parts of the game and all of them were ready. It wasn’t like they were standing and not in rhythm or not in the play. I thought they did a good job of playing off of each other. When you have those guys moving the ball like they did tonight, its going to be hard to stop everything. We had the inside game going with LaMarcus and Greg. Brandon was on the perimeter. Andre did a good job of coming in and quarterbacking and being aggressive and getting guys involved. I thought all night long we had a good offensive rhythm.”

LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE

“I think it was good for us to finally get two back to back good wins. I think the Bulls are a good team, they beat Boston last year… I think it was good for us to bounce back against a team that can win.”

“Right now we are just focused on getting better every game. I think this was showing that tonight, trying to come out and have a big win.”

On taking advantage down low
“That’s always our focus but we didn’t know if it was going to be that good tonight. They ended up letting us play one-on-one in the post the majority of the time and we just took advantage of it.”

BRANDON ROY

“Coming in, we stressed that they were the top offensive rebounding team so coach really challenged us to keep them off the boards, especially Noah and Deng. LA and Greg just came out and dominated the boards, killed em and offensively we got their bigs in foul trouble and we were able to establish ourselves in the paint.”

“I think these are good games for us. I don’t want to jump to far ahead… I think we are doing a good job of trying to build a rhythm and, more than anything, play free and have fun out there on the court. As we do that, I think guys and their roles will begin to fall into place.”

COACH VINNY DEL NEGRO

“(The Blazers) have a lot of weapons…Oden is developing and Aldridge, and when you can control the paint you have an opportunity, because jump shots go up and down sometimes but consistency in the middle obviously gives you an opportunity to be successful.”

JOAKIM NOAH

“He (ODEN) played very well. He’s a tough guy, he just kept putting his body on me and then Przybilla would come in. Just big guys, and they played really well tonight....I just got to find a way, I feel like I’ve been getting overpowered the last couple of games. Guys have just been putting their bodies on me and it’s taken a toll on me. I got to find a way to sustain.”
