Trail Blazers: Oden Undergoes Arthroscopic Procedure
"Portland C Greg Oden will undergo an arthroscopic procedure later today in Vail, CO to remove debris from his right knee."

Oregon Live: Trail Blazers: Raymond Felton ready to earn fine if LaMarcus Aldridge isn't selected an All-Star, Nate McMillan struggles to find practice time
"Felton wouldn’t let the subject go, though, vowing to speak out with such fervor if Aldridge is snubbed that it would draw the attention — and a fine — from the NBA office. “I’ll take the fine,” Felton said. "I'll take the fine."

Trail Blazers: Portland Suffers Fourth Consecutive Road Loss
"It was self-destruction, that’s all I can say. We had this game," Portland coach Nate McMillan said. "We really had control of this game, but in the second half we lost control. We had some big turnovers, one-on-one play; no ball movement. When you have all those things in a game, you will probably lose."

Trail Blazers: Road Review: Hard Times Continue In Sacramento
"How about shooting 61 percent in the first half? That's a huge gauge of control in that department. Raymond Felton was hitting, Aldridge was on fire and Kurt Thomas wasn’t taking no for an answer. The spot on shooting was the perfect compliment to the early defense by the Trail Blazers. They were active, reading their marks well, getting blocks and being all around disruptive for the Kings. All good pieces to begin competition back on the road."

Oregon Live: Sacramento 95, Portland 92: Same old story as Blazers falter on the road
"We gave the game away, plain and simple," Jamal Crawford said."

Rip City Project: Game 23 Recap: Blazers 92, Kings 95
"I don’t think we’ve reached the point in this season where somebody is going to have be moved and somebody new is going to have to be brought in to right the road problems. But if the Blazers keep losing to bad teams, and keep doing it by falling apart at the end of games, it’s going to have to happen. It would be a damn shame to lose a major piece of this team just because they can’t get it together on the road."

Blazersedge: Game 23 Recap: Portland Trail Blazers 92, Sacramento Kings 95
"The fourth quarter wouldn't improve much, unless rising to 35% from 25% counts as an improvement. The Kings simply doubled LaMarcus Aldridge every time he put the ball on the floor. It was a sound strategy. If you come with the immediate double Aldridge will pass around it or simply make his move before it gets there. But once he dribbles he's normally committed to the shot, if nothing else because his handles aren't great and he doesn't see the floor well on the move. With Aldridge unable to get any clear shot attempts Portland's offense just crumbled. Felton was the only Blazer who retained his first half mojo, and that was only offensively. For the second straight game Wesley Matthews got his fast break layup blocked by a smaller man. Wallace missed rebounds and shots. Crawford scored occasionally but not enough. In the end the Blazers had a chance to tie, the product of temporarily re-energized defense, but the desperation three-pointers went askew twice and came after the buzzer the third time. Kings win 95-92."

Ball Don't Lie: Our West All-Stars reserves, determined by entertainment value
"There are few better stories in the league than that of Aldridge, who came into the league with questions about his toughness, looked like the weakest part of the presumed Blazers' star trio of Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, and put the team on his back when those two failed to recover from multiple injuries. He's not the most exciting player in the league on a play-to-play basis, but he's a necessary component of any game that purports to represent the best the NBA has to offer."

Ball Don't Lie: Our East All-Star reserves, determined by entertainment value
"New players are exciting, whether for one team or the league as a whole, and it's in the NBA's best interest to promote those guys whenever possible. Irving deserves to get in on the merits, too, with 18.1 ppg and 4.9 apg in only 28.8 minutes as the Cavs battle for a playoff spot. He's only going to get better and play more, and the league should take advantage of his budding stardom as soon as possible. Hype only seems stupid when a player's success peters out -- Irving's not going to get to the point for some time."

The Basketball Jones: Ep. 754: The Overdose, Feb. 3
"On today’s show, we attempt to pick our 2012 NBA All-Star Reserves. (Is Paul Millsap a lock? Do you go with Tony Parker or Kyle Lowry? And who in hell do you pick in the Eastern Conference?) Also discussed: Which team Kenyon Martin should sign with, whether the Rockets will make a run at Hornets’ center Chris Kaman, and why LeBron James should consider doing the Dunk Contest, once and for all."

DIME: Breaking News: Kenyon Martin & The Clippers Agree On A Deal
"He’s back. The Los Angeles Times writes that the Clippers and Kenyon Martin have agreed on a mini mid-level deal that will be finalized once K-Mart passes a physical. Martin – who was being courted by five teams – should fit in well with Los Angeles. They have NO depth, especially upfront, where their first big man off the bench is Reggie Evans. Martin immediately moves into that spot and gives the team even more athleticism. "

DIME: The 5 Best Benches In The NBA
"Andre Miller is the center of it all. He’s still putting up 11.1 points, 7.2 assists and 1.4 steals a night, and there are about 20 teams that would love to have him starting. Al Harrington came back from the dead to have a renaissance year (15 points a night), and the Nuggets have also hit the jackpot with a couple of banished outcasts. Rudy Fernandez is back playing the free-wheeling style that he had during his rookie year in Portland, and even Corey Brewer, a cat three or four organizations said wasn’t even good enough to make their team, is playing over 16 minutes a game and averaging 7.9 points."

DIME: Daily Fantasy Basketball Diagnosis: 2.3
"Wesley Matthews: 4-12 FG (33%), 1 three, 9 Pts, 2 Reb, 1 Ast, 3 Stl; Matthews has totaled 21 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, six steals and one three-pointer in his last three games. So, yeah, this is pretty much rock bottom for his fantasy value. Buy low if you can."

Hang Time Blog: MVP Ladder: Crowded At The Top
"That’s just a friendly reminder for the Heat star, who sits atop the KIA Race to the MVP Ladder for the second straight week. James is still No. 1, but the gap between the man who likes to jump over people to dunk and the rest of the field is shrinking day by day."

ESPN: Celtics or Knicks: Who's facing a bigger disaster going forward?
"Knicks. The Celtics are fighting the natural aging process. That's distressing. The Knicks are fighting a perennial unwillingness to follow sound personnel strategy. That's permanent."
