Mike Barrett Inducted Into The West Albany Hall Of Fame

Mike Barrett is a lot of things. He's the Trail Blazers' television play-by-play man. He's an willing MC every time there's an event that needs some on-stage direction. He's a blogger. He's Mike Rice's straight man. He's a husband, father and son. And now he can add Hall of Famer to his resume.

Barrett, along with his father Duane, was inducted into the West Albany Sports Hall of Fame on November 7. The younger Barrett was named to the All-Valley League and All-State first teams his senior year as a pitcher for the West Albany Bulldogs. He also played basketball during his days at West Albany, playing for his father who headed up the program for 13 seasons.

Both Barrett's were inducted into the WAHS Hall of Fame along with Tod Surmon (wrestling) football and baseball coach Tom Hawkins, the 1952 Albany High School state champion baseball team and the 1996-97 state champion cheerleading squad.

MB has served as the Trail Blazers play-by-play announcer for the past seven seasons. Prior to that, Barrett served as sports director for 750 AM KXL.
